Republican President Michael Sata has charged that attempts to frustrate his government’s agenda of developing the country will not succeed. The President explained that since assuming office in September last year, some individuals have been trying to upset government stating that the PF government will not be derailed from fulfilling its promises to the Zambian people.

President Sata dared labor unions to go ahead with their planned strike if government does not meet their demands adding that government will be waiting for them.

The head of state was speaking at State house today when he swore in newly appointed Chiefs and traditional Affairs minister Emerine Kabanshi, Secretary to the cabinet Evans Chibiliti, Education Permanents Secretary Patrick Nkanza and chairperson for the Police and Prisons Service Commission Alexander Museba.

President has urged new office bearers not to be complacent but ensure that they serve the Republic of Zambia.

Yesterday , the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) said that Government should speed up the bargaining process for new conditions of service for public service workers.

ZCTU President Leornard Hikaumba told ZNBC news in an interview that Government should ensure that negotiations are completed before the existing collective agreement expires on March 31st this year.

Mr. Hikaumba added that the four percent salary increment that Government is proposing only applies to grant aided Government institutions and not non grant aided.

He also appealed to public service workers to remain patient and allow for the smooth conclusion of negotiations. Mr. Hikaumba however said that the ZCTU is confident that the negotiations will be completed amicably.

  1. honestly we will not allow these pipo to derail us.we want to develop this country Zambia.hence the need to have more of our cadres to feel in these positions.remember we have a lot of qualified cadres.

  2. My President are you more powerful then the people. You are looking for your quick exist from office if you joke on workers salaries. you promised and now we know that you are a layi layi leader. Vey sorry maningi basa

  3. “Republican President Michael Sata has charged that attempts to frustrate his government’s agenda of developing the country will not succeed.” However, the message should actuallY be corrected to read as follows: **”Republican President Michael Sata has charged that attempts to frustrate his government’s agenda of plundering this docile country will not succeed.**” But the people of Zambia are alert to PF’s high levels oF nepotism in dishing out govt positions to their kith & kin; PF cadres (Kabimba & Nsanda) have taken over the Zamtel Board. Cadres on the streets are supposed to cheer this plunder; whereas worshipers are encouraged to overflow Catholic Churches to pray for God blessings on such reckless looting of Govt resources. MAY GOD HEAR OUR PRAYERS.

  4. When is the man of action going to finally finish appointing? 6 months down the line and the govt is still not working up to speed?

  5. Bwana Sata, are you not the one who was inciting governemnt workers when you were in opposition? Are you not the one who used to embarass police officers at your rallies, saying they looked malnourished and wore torn uniforms? Were you not the one who promised to increase their s’sorry’ salaries? Liar, Liar, liar

  6. Typical of chamileons. You era Mr SATA will be a wasted one.I’m very happy that i was too clever to vote for you because i knew how incapable you to think and plan. You are and wascheap opportunist and shameless opposition leader who thrived on desperation and forgetfullness of Zambians.

  7. Those who were saying SATA is a man of action and will perform where are you now?shame on you dunderheads. You thought Chiluba hated SATA when he did not give presidency after the aborted third term.Stop campaigning for people on tribal lines the same way you have stated with Chipimo even when it is clear that the chap does not know anything. SATA is not presidential material simple as that and i pity his well meaning ministers who cant operate with proper workable program.Shifting sand is what SATA is.Next you start campaigning for Kambwli on the basis of being a man of action if when he is simply being silly and ill knowledgeable.

  8. The fates that dawned on Gbagbo of Ivory Coast, Mubarak of Egypt and Libya’s Gadaffi are not endemic to West and North Africa. There is fertile ground for such crave for better change throughout the African Continent. Sata has not been fully immunized against such sweeping infections.

  9. Confrontation makes things worse. Dont even go that route. Just sit down at a table and negotiate.

  10. Ha ha ah eeeh donchi kubeba. Even Lecturers at CBU were so excited (one group ofcourse) by the PF Gvt. And those are supposed to be intellectuals kekekeke. We complained about the 7% in the Banda administration now it has even dwindled further and the man is threatening. DONCHI KUBEBA ka. Thank God I never voted for this liability.

  11. SATA NDIWE OFUNTA, WE ARE WORKING HARD BUT WITH LOW WAGES WHILE YOU ARE ENJOYING WITH YOUR WIFE IN STATE HOUSE. THOSE WORDS FROM YOU ARE EVIL AND COME 2016 YOU ARE GOING YOU FOOL. DONT TAKE US FOR GRANTAGE DEAR. YOU PROMISED AND YOU HAVE TO GIVE US. THE SALARIES YOU GIVE US CAN NOT EVEN BUY YOUR BREAKFAST. I HATE YOU FOR THESE WORDS AND I WISH YOU SHORT LIFE. GOD WILL SURELY DEAL WITH YOU AND YOU SHALL …………….

  12. Development of a country requires everybody’s participation. PF alone cannot do it. As PF, I think we should be seen to be for seeking concensus even when we remain firm with our plans. Let the government position always be clear and explain why government took such a stand to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding due to lack of timely information to stakeholders.

  13. Mr President this is from your Chief adviser, don’t temper with civil servants they will finish you as quickly as possible. If you to maintain your party at State house give them the money they know money will not be enough but at least give them something and don’t start throw insulting them. They will go on strike so what are you going to benefit? You are digging on own grave if you playing with civil servants.

  14. Why is the President fighting an innocent statement, or are LT not giving us part of what Hikaumba said, to which the President is responding?

  15. Last straw. The man has lost it. Threats won’t wok, just deliver. As it is, every promise made, every slogan shouted (except for Don’t kubeba) has been broken.

  16. “Animal Farm” indeed now in Zed, remember Snowball? that’s what PF is doing any failure on their part is because of MMD.

  17. I now believe that Chanda Chimba and his “Stand up For Mother Zambia” was actualy prophetic… let Shikapwasha pay the charge, even from bank loan, but come 2016, Shamenda should be ready to refund him with interest.

  18. Mwanya !!!
To make matters worse it is hikaumba.. not chikaumba or chileshe or chanda.
    100% increment drops to 4%.
I remember sata when he was minister of local govt telling council worker in Lusaka who were on strike to report for work or consider themselves fired. mark my words.
What did you expect…..More money in your pockets without economic consequences.
Youth should employ themselves says bob sichinga while the American embassy says we give pf time to create jobs. what should we believe ?

  19. We were warned we couln’t listen, we wanted MAN OF ACTION now see the action he is giving us!!!!! Mr. Snake 2016 is near you are not there forever SIR. Nowonder the pact could not work I thought HH was a problem but now see Sata is a big problem.

  20. Chilufya, why do you fear your own shadow, national ddevelopment cannot be generated by you and Kabimba winter you need other people like unions.Threats will not take you anywhere, wakeup. Even if you are dull try to encampus others.

  21. If you read this article very well, you will realise that Hikaumba sounds more formal than the President. For the President, all he sees is enermies, haters and so on. Move on bwana President and work you are the President now. Zambia really needs a leader..I can’t see any from any of these guys in the opposition. Chipimo and HH are not politicians but teachers…mark the difference TEACHER and POLITICIAN.

  22. Can you tell your government bargaining team to give an offer rather than making threats. How much are giving civil servants? thats the question everyone wants answered. Don’t be cheated by the ka Post that you are popular and you can brutalise everyone. A strike is inevitable if you public service workers your nonsense. Learn to K.I.S.S. as you put it yourself. Ma Rubish. All unionised workers have the right to strike, who are you to deny them their right simply because they are employed by government. The money is not coming from your pocket, and we are simply reminding you of your campaign promises. What development do you say will be derailed. You make me sick……….., atase.

  23. Now the vernom from the serpent has begun poisoning the masses, he promised barotse he promised mo money he promised salaries he promised anything he dreamt about, now that he has woken up from opposition inti reality government he has realised its easily spoken than done……….Sata on salaries he is already showing failure. civil servants are in trouble wapya aisa sata

  24. Ba Sata prease just honour your promises dont hate someone because you are failing to honour what you promise.

  25. The people of Zambia gave Mr Sata the mandate to govern them until 2016. on the promises he was making during the campaigns. None of the promises have been fully realised. Do not bput the blame on Mr Sata alone but blame yourselves also for being so naive. Chanda Chimba III and those who have known the flip flopping of Mr Sata warned us. Did we heed their advise? For now, let us wait until 2016 to vote wisely this time. Long live the President of Zambia!

  26. This appears like the beginning of a Volcanic Eruption

Sata! Start by laying a “Framework” that the Civil Service can use as a Bench Mark for your National Development agenda that you so preached about during election campaigns.

Government cannot do all or can it be perfect, but you are ever shooting yourself in the foot with your utter rhetoric. In other words, you are derailing yourself by listening to the window panes of State House.

    Cont….

  27. Stick to the plan and show us how we can follow you and give you credit as expected.

You are slowly reversing everything that you found that was workable in the Civil Service
Time has caught up with you and there is no hiding.

How will anything work, when you’re constantly shifting positions & frustrating Custodian of the Civil Service?

  28. sata honor your promises your rallies were full of teasing the police. malama former IG was a great leader he supported you that is y the police officers voted for you.honour those promises to improve the conditions of police officers. it seems you are a big lier . chanda chimba told us but we could not listern.ye!

  29. The ZCTU or whatever union should not be scared by this mere hot air from Sata. If the Sata and his government are arrogant they can always go on a protected (legal) strike. Nobody will be fired and if need be the unions can even take their matter to the ILO. Could it be that under the Kaponyas protected strikes do not exist?

  30. The interesting thing about this PF Government is that the President lacks intellectual capacity to discern how to manage the affairs of this country then he seals it all by surrounding himself with people like Nsanda, Kabimba, GBM, Chitotela, Kambwili the list is endless all full of water than the grey matter in their heads. Heads will role pa zed. Donchi kubeba.

  31. LOLEST!!! You guys actualy believed a guy who proudly calls himself a cobra? And now you are sniveling and demanding him to keep his promises? Mwalitumpasana! Shuffle, apoint dissapoint, re-post, threaten, cadrelise, etc. PF Gvts developmental agenda for the next 5 years! Stew in that pot of sh!t!

  32. freedom of expression indeed!salary negotiations based on wat? repeal the entire labour laws, take it to parliament after consultations with the unions &ZFE.thats wen we wl be saying man of action nt ths NONSENSE!we need better bulls @ Zctu & fetuz nt hikaumba & joyce they ve outlived their usefulness. We need unions that wl keep sata & company running till 2016

  33. from what i see, Zambians forced sata to promise what he knew he could not do because somehow we are short of critical minds. now the man is simply trying to do what is humanly possible with what he has. i wish we could be more sobber in our expectations.

  34. Why such a response from a president to an honest maturely plea of a union leader? If the president cant control his tempor or attitude towards certain individuals its better he delegates the minister responsible to issue such statements because they stinck of hatred

  35. Let us shut the country down.  Zambia is going nowhere under these PFooters.  Lets us go to sleep now and we can all wake up in 2016 and vote in a new sensible party.  How I wish we had a RECALL provision in the Constitution so that political liars can be recalled from State House or Manda Hill (Parliament) and sent back to the gutters where they belong!!

  36. Sata promised better salaries and said he knows where the money is. We wont accept anything below 50%. Never!!!

  37. I DON’T UNDERSTAND ANYONE FOR BLAMING NOHA SATA, COZ U NEW FOR SURE WAT KIND OF A PERSON HE IS. MAWE, HE IS A MAN OF ACTION, NOW LET HIM ACT LUBONE.
LET HIM JOKE WITH ANYTHING ELSE, BUT ON THE BAROTSE ISSUE WE WON’T LEAVE HIM GO FREE, WE WANT TO MAKE HIM SWEAT BLOOD, SO THAT HE SHOULDN’T REPEAT THIS TO OTHERS.

  38. Put more money in the pockets of Zambians who are working so hard to make Zambia and the government look good.

  39. funny though, is it not the same serpent who had gone to join some striking zamtel workers to show solidarity? i believe this was some time last year. so what has changed? because you are no longer in opposition? be consistent! nonsense!

  40. DONT SAY YOU WERE NOT WORNED BY Chanda Chimba you were worned. Chanda Chimba told you the truth and you refused to listen and now you are paying the price. The other problem i have seen is that most of you peaple enjoy listening to lies and thats why you liked Sata.

  41. Dear fellow Zambians
Am sadened by the recent developments.am overwelmed that as Zambian we are able to see and analyse issues. However ,i reserve my comments on the running of the nation as of late.i remember criticizing the late mwanawasa who later turned to be the best and objective president we have ever had.its now the sixth month of the PF-error and i think its to early to call a spade.i will join you on the other side .my piece of advice is that lets give him some time.change never come in the twinkling of an eye.i know most of you may disagree but its the truth.

  42. Ba PF whats going on kanshi,Bwenzani did his part look at the projects u inherited, imwe ni appointing and reshuffling chabe? Awe mwandi, ma change yamene aya tazipeza mu donchi kudabwa ka…

  43. The workers who want to sttrike have to do it with a stronger resolve. If they strike half hearted they will wind up with no jobs, fired by the serpent.

They should resolve to strike beyond the point where the serpent thinks he has fired them. Only then will they have the opportunity to fire him instead and reistate themselves…..

  44. Let the prophecy of TB Joshua of an african president passing on be fulfild in the life of this cobra.Ata do u think that zambia is yo mothers own country?come 2016 u ar going if u dont die.SWINE

  45. Motion to impeach please!! we cannot go on like this for the next 5years this guy must go.
Zed does not have the 5 years to waste maybe Given Lubinda can do better. We don’t how the union is threatening Sata behind the scenes but when in public use diplomacy we have to be seen as civilized people not brainless Monkeys yelling at the top of there lungs.

  46. very disappointing indeed. where the “more money” going to come from if today he gives health workers 100% salary increament only to refuse 2 weeks later and then gives civil servants 4% on a “take it or leave it” basis? am still waiting for this PF govt to deliver on its campaign promises

  47. Chanda Chimba, i now can believe, i wish i cud revive the days, so that i support u. every word u spoke was absolutely true. this snake lied on barotse land, he laid on investors. now its on pay rise. Zambian by 2016, this Serpant will be rated the worst president Zambia will ever have. believe me or not. He has just finished insulting Lozis thru this ***** Wynter Kabimba. now he is insulting tongas. where are we going? Mr. Satan, Cobra just your names interpretes wat u are. Lukakubona hau kaya kuluna kwa bulozi, Uko nyelelela kwa teni.

  48. HAHAHHAHAHA, now that’s the REAL KING COBRA right there. Mwanya ba fi ka la….He will fire all of you with immidiate effect. Yaba, only pa zed…and we continue to watch this space.

  49. CAN ANYONE UNDERSTAND WHAT HE PRESIDENT IS SAYING HERE ON THIS QUOTATION FROM THE POST?
“Because for the police to be alert, they must be comfortable. If they are not comfortable they will not be alert,” President Sata said. “All the people who are doing, some of them for example in Southern Province, they want to fund the youths to say when they are march-passing on Monday, they want to start demonstrating but they will just be march-passing and I will not be there and we understand unemployment what it can create in people’s minds.”

  50. The unions, Southern province, North-Western, Mazimawe, the Ngambela, Mtarika etc, just how many people is this lunatic going to dare? Ndutaate ona kacembele mumbulu ka konji ika ombe moyo.

  51. Sata don’t think you are very clever by changing colours like a camileon, 2016 is near, why fooling people? So far you’ve done nothing apart from firing and hiring people. Insulting a crocodile while you batts are still in water is bad.

  52. The president is daring the workers at his own peril. He should instead maintain a cool head and engage them in meaningful dialogue to arrive at a “win – win” solution than antagonise relations. He has forgotten who is the boss. The power Sata is enjoying is getting to his head. He does not need reminding that the people of Zambia can take away the mandate given to him to rule. The arrogant so- called- leader who has failed to deliver on his promises should sober up and respect the workers and the electorate at large lest he is in for rude awakening.

  53. Ona kacembele ka kwa ndutaata, konji ka ombiwe mooyo ki mezi a mwa luswana! Now that his honey moon is over, he will see what a tsunami is. And for all I know, Sata is a stinking coward, you should have seem the “malubilo” he scampered that fateful evening Lupunga “pundungelard” – clobbered him!
