  1. Tanzania has never been known to be a footballing nation.Don’t know whether I am just not aware but I think they have never WON any significant cup since I can recall in my young years! Someone please update me!

    • Sometimes it’s to give confidence to the players when they perform well against a weaker side. I can imagine playing Spain and getting a 9 – 1 smacking going into the AfCon tournament… That’d be way too much for their confidence.

  2. This is my advice to the Zambia National Team and the coaching staff.
    1. We must intensify our shooting at the goal daily. The cracker that Collins unleashed on RSA is what we need! Accurate and rewarding.! Our shooting at the goal was wasteful in the last tournament missing clear would-be goals.

  3. 2. Free-kicks must also be practiced daily. A free kick outside the 18 during Kalusha era was potentially a game changer! “Taipula mumuntu” (The ball does not go through a human wall) we used to say. It is pathetic to see players shooting into the human wall. Can anyone watch Kalu and learn from him? If possible coach let him help these boys on the pitch!

  4. 3. We are getting better on penalties but we must not relent! Remember Nigeria knocked us out on penalties in Angola! Practice, practice and practice those spot kicks daily!
    4. Go for revenge for Nigeria. No other alternative.
    5. Retain the trophy at all cost! God bless you Zambia!

  5. Haters: BBC says Katongo named 2012 BBC African Footballer of the Year! Go Zambia, go! He worked very hard. His achievements particularly when he played in Europe went unnoticed and overshadowed by “big leagues” coverage of Spanish, English or Italian football! Yet if you look at his footage in many youtube videos, you will notice that he was the unsung hero living in the shadows of great players like Drogba etc! Gob bless Zambia and thanks BBC!

  6. There are some interesting points in this article but I dont know if I see all of them middle to heart. There is some validity but I will take hold judgment until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we want more! Added to FeedBurner too.
