Zambia’s President Michael Sata has said that the PF Government will soon launch the Pave Zambia 2000, which is the first of its kind and scale in Zambia.

According to the statement released to the media by State House, the President said that the central aim of Pave Zambia 2000 project will be employment creation and full repair of major urban roads countrywide.

President Sata said that the Government will this year accelerate the implementation of the industrialization and job creation strategy.

The president said that the plan will be aimed aimed at transforming the economy with the centre of attention being on sectors with high employment creation potential such as agriculture, tourism, construction and manufacturing.

“These sectors have the highest requirement for labour and labour intensive projects as well as the potential to be highly competitive and thus encourage growth, employment, value addition and ultimately expand the country’s economic base,” the Head of State said.

The project will encompasses segmented paving and cobbles of approximately 2000 kilometers of urban roads which are in poor condition requiring rehabilitation in all the 10 provinces.

President Sata underscored his Government’s desire and resolve to improve the road infrastructure through the implementation of the on-going Link Zambia 8000 road project in the country as enshrined in the PF manifesto.

The President further said that, to date, about 12,850 road sector jobs have been created countrywide.

The Head of State expressed confidence that his administration was on course in implementing campaign promises.

President Sata reiterated the Government’s commitment to creating a better Zambia for all by providing inspirational and visionary leadership to the nation and promoting inclusive governance.

    • Continue looking even if the results are visible. the man is trying. Leo look at his achievements so far, very few can manage.

  1. Seleni tubombeko.A true President for all zambians. This is what he and me promised u when we stood on the podium. It will be done

  2. Thats the man. We know Kaunda was derailed by two things (1) Liberation struggles (2) His overstay in power. Now is the time for another man with boldness to develop Zambia. Its all in our heads but we are derailed by trivialities. We know what we aspire for but derailed by corrupt thinking. Its no point always being an opposite to reality. The opposition parties can oppose well by supporting those in power and then strategise for the next general elections. but meanwhile support the one in leadership. Being in opposition does not mean opposing like a foreigner who does not need development for the country. Every day arguing like Armsterdam will not unite us as a people, the guy won’t be there and he will keep loughing at us for underdevelopment. Lets support nobble action by PF.

    • I have seen rich and knowledgeable Grade 4 (four)s and have also seen poor but educated misfits, drunks who are merely employees and canot think outside of the box to become as rich as the uneducated. The educated ones can fail in election but the so called uneducated ever ascend to Republicant Presidency. Where is the intelligence and wisdom of the educated? We are all born with different gifts. Check where you are and what you are doing it may be fit for Grade 4 than you.

    • Poor chitalu u write good english not of a grade 4.There is a very big deffrence between u and a grade 4 anless u tell me that grade 4s ar more educated thsn u ar.

    • Education is not everything. Some educated fellas spiral down to uneducated level in deeds but good at parroting stuff. Don’t misunderstand education is good definately. But some educated fellas are no better than the uneducated. How do you explain the fact the the educated one scheme plans and action to squeeze the poor more and more. In FTJ reign the privatised, retrenched, prunned, rationalised, brought new economic dispensation, name it, all high sounding words, but what did they do to mother Zambia. Where are they now after stealing whilst we were watching, hoping they are educated and doing the best. Their behaviour is no different from the common man in the street. Their brains spiralled down to corruption, pilfering and stealing, leaving us pot holes in roads and we watched them.

  3. After spending a painful 2 weeks in Zambia with family and Nick, I was extremely surprised on why most children were looking at him, Why are people shocked at seeing a Whiteman close up?
I also got disturbed when we went to a Tavern where I was having soft drinks keeping myself near Nick’s left arm so people know he was with me to only be shocked by seeing people eating Nshima in a Tavern. There are times when you get embarrassed being your own colour, tribe and refuse to get affiliated with wrongs. The club was noisy and the floors dirty unlike here in Scotland.
We also went to the a High class pub in Lusaka People were loud, kept looking at me all the time, and Nick looked uncomfortable and we left O’Hagans I think at Woodlands
    Terrible Thanks

    • Mushota, what does your comment have to do with the price of eggs. Zambia will not develop by cheap criticism. Someone once said a problem is not a problem unless it has a solution. Don’t criticize void of a solution. We are in Zambia not Scotland, Africa not Europe.

We have a major task as Zambians to rebuild our nation and unless you play your part, development will not come at the pace we want it to. Gather what you have learned and earned in Scotland and come and build your country.

While the plan to keep our youths busy is not a permanent one, it is definitely a step in the right direction. Until we find a more lasting solution to our problems, lets work with what we have.

    • It would be nice seeing you build a beautiful Pub next to O’hagans and run it the Scottish style. Otherwise, its all wishful thinking and stay put in Europe and let us Zambians strive to develop this Great Nation.
I was just wondering, did you tell Nick that Zambia was in Europe???

    • ha ha ha..ooh my god!..thx for the eventful story. And you are sure it was in zambia under Nick’s left arm not in a dream???…ha ha ha…am very proud of you..just tell your mum and her lady friends to stop eating nshima in a tavern and you won’t be embrassed again

    • ulikapuba, tarven? in the 21st century? and wat is so special abt white men? if the kids wer shockd 2 see yo so called white man, then I believe u come frm chilubi island. that evn proves yo naivety n’ wishful thinking. U must hav bn taken by one of the peace corps frm the islands

    • GUYZ WHY DO YOU ALWAYS ALLOW MUSHOTA TO DERAIL YOU FROM TOPICS AT HAND…THIS MUSHOTA HAS BEEN SO SUCCESSFULL AT DIVERGING TOPICS AND ALL THIS IS BCOZ YOUR ABILITIES TO FOCUS ON ISSUES ARE VERY LOW…

    • May be your man is so ugly that people were wondering what he was doing on this planet. What is wrong with people eating nshima in a tarven? The problem with us Zambians is that after living for just 2 weeks in say Scotland, we act more Scottish than the Scottish. How sad!!!!!!

    • Mushota is a fake. He/she wasn’t in Zambia at all. This is just a trickster sitting in Jhb or Zim or something. Nice try!

    • #Just Saying. I strongly object to your open insult against people of Chilubi Island and District. Chilubi Mission is one of the oldest in Zambia being established in 1903 and chilubi people have been close to white people since that time. It is nothing special. How dare you show your cheap ignorance in this manner. Chilubi produced the first Zambian Catholic Bishop. It has produced all manner of professionals and business men. If you have any morals or ethics you should apologise.

    • Mushota taumfwa… I always wonder why at all times you are out of topic. I think you like the attention us bloggers give you.

    • Part of “mushota’s” thesis the more you comment the closer he/she gets to the final presentation. My guess is that the thesis is based on “Reaction to critisism: Case study of Zambian nationalities”. The joke is on you and your reactions…………..

  4. HEMCS, Man of the moment, Man of the match, think tank. Creating employment in less than two years, yaba caume cena ci King of politics. Ico, cikali. Bravo Mr President, viva PF ala come 2016 nipabwato fye bane.

  5. there is lateral nothing to get excited about ,,only those with small brain, who think sata will improve their well being..sata wawaaaaaa

  6. “…… rehabilitation in all the ten provinces”.

We shall revert to nine provinces when the “Butcher of Chawama” leaves State House. The creation of Muchinga Province is just a strategy to develpe the Butcher’s place of origin. Mobutu tried it. Today his birthplace Gbadolite which was covered in splendour with mables is a sorry site in ruins.

  7. Make sure u make good roads leading to the prison MBR, coz u and kabimba including fools like mmembe and nchito will spend the rest of they lives in prison.

  8. Has his drug dosage been increased? Please enough of this nonsense! Present yourself before the citizens. We are sick and tired of these Press releases from Bwinjimfumu. Auto-pilot……….cruising to hell!

  9. Sata has run out of what to do for the youths ,,he cheated and dumped,,sorry for the development of the youths who are to settle down with families.

  10. Another statement released by State House when is he going to have a press conference? Here again is this government physically creating jobs via 1965 UNIPist socialist theories.

    • @umunthu ni HH . who is failure between the HH and H.E MCS .MCS is the president has made a mark on the zambian politics unlike you HH who is tribal presdo for Tongas by Tonga. HH will never be like SATA

    • @ UMUNTU NI H.H
Insoni shamikata bangwele imwe If it were your under 5, he would have not done anything is this magnitude. You must learn to give credit were it is due. Seleni tubombeko ba Konto imwe

  11. i dont trust the numbers being tossed about but i like the move….a good road network will go along way in opening areas to other types of development

    • How much is ur mealie meal? MMD left it cheaper. PF wont be difficult to remove on 2016. People just wanted to give Sata chance to see wateva he used to say cud be achieved but now have realised tht it was a WASTED VOTE.

  12. Zambia is on course. The industrialisation and job creation strategy is certainly a TKO to all them critics. Truelly these programmes will transform Zambia into a land of prosperity. Those with ears should start strategising on how they can be part of the various government programmes being launched by the PF Government. Viva Sata, Viva PF

  13. # 31 KASABULA IS KABIMBA’S SMALL DOG AND MASEBO’S SMALL SCERW…SATA HAS FAILED THE YOUTHS DECENT JOBS.

  14. Jay Patel, I do not know if you own a shop in Lusaka. The last thing I would expect from most of you Zambians of Indian origin (and who own shops) is the criticism of the President on cleaning up Lusaka. For starters I do not see why you expect sata to be the one t clean up the City. The man has employed people to do that kind of work, he has concilors, District officials, ministers, and the ranks can go on. He doesnt control the funds. He does not say who gets what money, he only signs documents. So why he would have to come and clean Lusaka beats me, especially when we have shop owners like those of your relatives (and currently Lebanese and Chinese) who can even agree to put tarmac on the areas where they make money…… Do you expect the President to come and clean up that mess? Pliz!

  15. Sata is now reacting to NAREP’s statement of asking for clear plans to create employment.

This is exactly what the opposition is supposed to be doing, make the government accountable instead of wasting people’s time with Namugalas suspension or expulsion

  16. lets us respect for each other guys ,don’t be like sata who insults and embarrasses our great country zambia always is busy planting seeds of divisions,,sata zwaaa

  17. What’s wrong with Mushota. I thought she would comment on what our president said. How did you end up in Europe?
Our president, that the way forward and we are watching you.

  18. Link Zambia 8000, Pave Zambia 2000, Build 12,000 houses for Ministry of Home Affairs… These projects will cost Zambia not less than USD9 billion. Where will the money come from? Gvt is saying nothing about the revenue side. They are not talking about the re-introduction of windfall tax on mines?? Just where will money come from??

    • Iwe chi wabwino, revenue collection has trebled even without windfall tax. Bushe ni news yakwisa musoma? The country now is collecting huge sums of money from the mines because of loop hioles which were sealed such as evasion of tax by under declaring copper exports to Switzerland. Zambia has even been accredited for transparency in copper revenue collection since last year. Mwalilala bane, bukeni.

    • Exactly GK, and why are these projects not in the 2013 budget. Where are the Project documents for these programmes so that we can study them. Empty slogans without substance.

    • I shudder to imagine what will happen to Zed when the national coffers dry up. The issue of benefiting from the mines appears to have, unfortunately, hit a snag big time. The powers that be appear to have developed cold feet on this issue to the extent that we stand with our hands tied to our backs when our diminishing resources are being plundered with impunity at our expense and sadly, environmental degradation. Isn’t time we got serious for our posterity’s sake? Can somebody please explain why we have always been in a position of weakness when it comes to negotiating a piece of what is rightfully ours?

  19. How is prof. Clive Chirwa doing bane. The chap is quite all of a sudden. Has he spelt out his plan to impropve the railway network?

    • Iwe we cipuba we. Takwali board. The board is now in place and the master plan concerning the revamping of rail infrastructure will soon be underway. Ninshi ukuba backward so? Uli cimutonga naiwe? Be up to date twapapata.

  20. #9.9 THAT HOW LOW-THINKING THE SO CALLED EDUCATED ZAMBIANS ARE. HOW CAN SOMEONE CALLING HIMSELF/HERSELF EDUCATED WASTE TIME ON RESPONDING TO MUSHOTA?

  21. This is the way to go Mr President, those who can’t appreciate are doubting Thomases, one day they will appreciate what you are doing. Keep it up my President.

    • What exactly has your baboon done except turn State House into a Hospice? Not forgetting the retarded relatives and tribesmen he has given govt jobs!

  22. Tourism is the way to go, and the best way to do that is to work on the roads. That is what Turkey has done and they don’t even have as good tourist sights as we have, but they are a big tourist destination in Europe

  23. Oh Zambians… the government says they will do something and you are already congratulating them, isnt this the same government that proposed the 90days plan? Dont be so easily convinced, hold your tongue and watch and see whether this plan will actually happen. then you can go ahead and congratulate the president.

  24. I hope these pronouncements by the President are not meant to divert attention from the arbitrary arrests of opposition leaders and the high prices of mealie meal. The President should concentrate on developmental projects and forget about harassing those with opposite views. Such things are making the President unpopular. Mwanawasa forgot about the insults of Sata (now President) and concentrated on improving the economy. He let Sata do his criticism and worked hard to improve the economy. I would be happy if the President did the same. Concentrate on fulfilling your promises Mr President. Let the opposition do their work for a health democracy.

  25. Heaven on earth does not come when you stay away, unless you participate. Waumfwa mune Mushota? That is if you exist at all.

  26. I know Mushota, she was just one of those night hookers (amaule) from Alpha in Northmead for close to four years. Don’t mind her. She is a finished lady just waiting to die.

  27. fee up-end (upnd) mwaba shani mwefi puba everything is to criticise ba pushi imwe.viva mr president thats the good move sir, tafitasha ifi ba tallnger

    • Fumapo tuland wechipuba naiwe… What kind of President are you supporting who doesn’t even know that we left the year 2000 and we are in 2013. Anyway ifupuba are the ones who continue to defend him pantu mulibantu bamobene!

    • Fileke filenwa fye amabisi nokulwala denkete. Fikapapa sana development mu Zambia in the four years leading to elections in 2016. Rupiah left development to the last minute and it cost him the elections. Abacenjela nabatangishako development so that come 2016, there will be no need to campaign. Muyocibona casalazya kwale kumulomo noziyanga.

  28. ASSIGNING ALL THAT MONEY TO 1 PROJECT (ROADS) AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHER INFRASTRUCTURE IS LACK OF LEADERSHIP SKILLS. THE INTEREST-FREE LOANS FROM CHINA ARE A FARCE. WE ARE PAYING TWICE BECOZ MOST OF THE TENDERS ARE GIVEN TO CHINESE FIRMS, WHO EMPLOY MOSTLY CHINESE LABOURERS. WHY NOT SPREAD THE FUNDING TO INCLUDE: –
    1. SCHOOLS
    2. HEALTH CENTRES
    3. WATER & SEWERAGE INFRASTRUCTURE
    4. RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE
    5. HOUSING FOR CIVIL SERVANTS
    6. WATER RETICULATION PROJECTS FOR FARMING BLOCKS E.G. SMALL DAM CONSTRUCTION, WIND MILLS
    7. GRAIN STORAGE FACILITIES IN EACH DISTRICT, NOT THOSE OPEN FRA SHEDS
    8. APPOINT ME YOUR SPECIAL ADVISOR *WINK, WINK*…

  29. Has someone reminded clueless Sata that this is 2013 and not 2000? The rest of the country is 13 YEARS ahead of him. No wonder things keep going back!

  30. Tumfweko boys have invaded LT, insults all over. I left Tumfweko becoz of insults and u guys have brot the same primitive vulgar language here. Where do u want us to go? By the way, why to pipo respond to Mushota??? If evrybody will ignore ha comments I can assure u that she/he will stop the nonsense.
Be sober gentlemen, argue with dignity…..

  31. Great talk Pres Sata. Now to action. One mo thing, does 2000 mean you want to pave 2000 roads ? If so, even greater in that way , you can measure your progress.

  32. Mwanamfumu ..cheat your hulees in chibolya…you and kabimba together with sata are evils….no love for the youths

    • Hakainde Hichilema takatekepo ngolefwaya wikafwa in the next 10 years and see whether your foolish and egoistic leader will ever run this country. Over your dead body wekabwa we.

  33. KWEKWE IS RIGHT ,,BANE LETS SUPPORT H.H HE IS BETTER THAN SATA WHO HAS NO SKILL AT ALL,,,SATA IS A BIG KACHEPAA.

  34. Ici ci lawyer naco ci Sakwiba Sikota is selfish. How could he get such big tracts of land for himself and his Egyptian counterparts? 190 hectares of prime land in Lusaka for you alone! Icimona we cipuba we. Waitemwa shani kanshi iwe? Ci Rupiah naiwe how do you approve of such nonsense? Its time you were caged. Thief.
