Roan United coach Kaunda Simonda has hailed his team for holding Nkana to a 1-1 draw in the delayed FAZ Super Division match in Luanshya on Wednesday.
Simonda’s team equalised five minutes from full time at Kafubu Stadium to deny Nkana a chance to go top of the table.
Simonda declared that the draw against second placed Nkana has demonstrated that Roan can challenge for the league title.
“I want to thank my players for coming from behind, I thought we were going to lose after allowing that goal,” he said.
“We played well today you know Nkana is a big team but we took them on,” Simonda added.
He said:”This draw with Nkana means that we can also go top because Nkana is one of the teams on top.”
Roan are sixth on the table.
