Herve Renard says he has performed very well in his second term as Chipolopolo coach.
Renard’s future as Zambia coach remain uncertain following Chipolopolo’s failure to advance to the final stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
His two-year contract ends next June.
“We have to look at what we did during the last two years with Patrice, we did very well in my opinion,” Renard said.
The Frenchman is credited for guiding Zambia to winning the 2012 Africa Cup in Gabon.
He added:”I am very proud.”
On contract extension talks, Renard said:”The priority to talk will be from Zambia and that is normal.”
Prior to the flopping of Zambia’s 2014 World Cup campaign, Renard had strongly hinted that he may leave his Chipolopolo top job this month.
Renard can make such vague utterances as he knows that us Zambians don’t take statics and data seriously. If anything we have underperformed and nosedived under this PE teacher. He had an opportunity to build a team to take to AFCON 2013 he failed and relied on the same aging players he favours.
The only important statistic is the AFCON victory. His contract needs to be renewed.
As I stated we don’t take statics and data seriously if we did HR would have been kicked out a long time ago…the PE teacher has only won 1 away match in 15 qualifying matches, he has LAMENTABLY FAILED to build a proper squad with an effective strike force…BUT because he won AFCON cup in the past after someone else had done all the hard work for him of qualifying he should stay…if it was up to him I highly doubt if we would have qualified to AFCON 2012 final.
Additionally under your PE teacher we have dropped a whooping 10 places on the FIFA ranking table but because we have a BUFFOON for a sports minister and a self-serving FAZ President who probably gets a cut from HR’s wages he should stay…the Angolan FA saw through HR and got rid of him before serious damage was done.
Renard be proud of yourself! You’re the most successful coach in Zambia’s history. You have the ACN and Cosafa cup on your CV.

Zambian football is doomed under Renard. Zambia needs to move on and hire another manager who will introduce attacking brand of football, introduce nurseries and allow players to sign for big teams in Europe. Renard is not the calibre of coach or manager to do this.Zambia must hire a coach from Netherlands or Germany.Kalusha must be allow to vacate the position of President of FAZ so that another person with managerial marketing credentials can take over FAZ.
And this Dutch or German Coach will be such a miracle worker, he will magically manufacture Zambian strikers who can score goals, from the crop of strikers we currently have. Why not just make it cheaper, cut out the middle Man, & get us T.B. Joshua- (Miracle Man). Zambia will immediately have strikers like Messi, Daniel Sturridge, & Christiano Ronaldo – to name a few.
WHY NOT ENGAGE CHARLES MUSONDA AS COACH?
In my own opinion, Renard was a flop of a Coach. I now believe fate was on our side, only because we played the CAN in Gabon, and the spirit of our heroes were with us.
Moving forward, Renard has to go. We need to bring in a new Coach, someone that understands what needs done, Renard just doesn’t.

Renard, what could be wrong with you? During the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers you won 2 games out of 6, drew 2 and lost 2 and as if that was not enough Fifa gave you 3 free points just like Tunisia was given. The difference between Zambia and Tunisia is that Tunisia received the free points and qualified and Zambia received the free points and ended up with 11 points four behind the team that qualified. And you stand up and say you did very well! Mr renard are you normal or could it be that desperate people do desperate things. Are you aware that Tunisia fired their coach after Tunisia earlier failed to qualifier before being awarded points?.
Spot on but our fans choose to ignore such statics or data as HR won AFCON 2012 cup. And they wonder how the likes of Spain and Germany who have been very successful in the past still play each match like they have never won a single cup.

When u compare HR to coaches england has hired and team performance, HR is way! way! way above them. why do away with a coach thats above interpretors that are hired in the epl. I am looking for a job as Chipolopolo coach. I know how to read the game, make critical substitutions that produce results. I don’t play names but result oriented and self motivated players are thirsty for goals and fame.
FAZ, why not try me? Just give a probation of six games and six wins. If Chipolopolo loses one out of the six games then it will be up to you to hire me or not.

I won the afcon kekeke! We all know that the team that won the afcon was not his.it was bonet who made that Team. Now that most Players from that Team have grown old ,the phisical Trainer has failed to make a Team of new Young Players,we all saw what zimzim did to us.The guy is not a developer.
I know why Rene wants to stick to Chipolopolo (after all that he said before the Kumasi Game). Elsewhere, no one would give him a substantive couching job (at least for now, he has no offers; if he had he could have resigned already). Sadly, he is what Jay Jay calls him: just a PE Teacher. He will stick with Chipolopolo, however, hoping he wins another AFCON to boost his marketability and leave thereafter. That is the strategy (but I wonder whether it will work).

Zed league is crap not even zed but all countries on the southern hermispere r poor hence African cup and even African club cup r both dominated by countries above the equator. The manager did his best with the quality at his disposal. Don’t blame the coach winning African can is hard for countries South of the continent.l

So what the way forward? Zambias opponents knows all his tactics hence failing to beat even small teams like Lesotho Sudan Zimbabwe[COSAFA]. Under him, we will win 2/10 games and fail to qualify to any major tournament. So what is the benefit of keeping him?
During slave trade the strongest men were taken away from africa. Most of them ended in west africa as survivors hence west africans are stronger than any others. Tell me s team from the southern hemisphere of africa that has qualified to the finalidts. None they are all weak.

There is no point in insulting and shouting down Renart. He didn’t employ himself, Zambia employed. But then, when AFCON02012 was won, we praised REnart instead of Boneti – such a lowly-thinking country Zambia is: we even went on to give Renart citizenship!!! If Renard is that contented with his performance so far, then we surely deserve someone with a higher standard and expectations. The same applies to the FAZ presidency, we need someone who can make use of information, such as statistical and make incisive decisions. Change is long overdue at FAZ.
From the comments above I have concluded we should bring Bonetti as Renard’s assistant. Bonetti for qualifying and Renard for winning.
