Opposition All Peoples Party (APP ) president Mike Mulongoti has advised government to involve the opposition in issues of national development.

Mr Mulongoti says it is important for the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) government to involve the opposition in issues of national development.

He said this was because there is need for government to embrace opposition parties in order to address national challenges because problems affect every citizen.

ZANIS reports that the opposition leader said this in a telephone interview in Lusaka, today.

The party president said the opposition do not attach emotions to developmental matters but simply stick to their role of providing checks and balances.

He said the PF ought to work with all opposition leaders for Zambia to achieve the millennium development goals and the 2030 vision.

Mr Mulongoti said embracing the opposition can bring about expertise in handling the developmental projects that the government wishes to undertake.

It was only MMD leader Dr. Nevers Mumba and some of his party ‘s National Executive Committee ( NEC ) leaders that participated in in yesterday ‘s annual Inter Company relay officiated by First Lady Dr. Christine Kaseba- Sata.

The rest of the opposition was conspicuously absent.

  1. Mulongoti is already broke. Quite pathetic. Apa pene mwalebomfya ama BlackBerry yatatu pamuku umo, namuwa! Shemuna!

  2. I had been thinking, lf Zambia could try to have members of parliament come from the numbers from the results apportioned in percentages, then we shall have even small political parties represented in parliament. And this will bring to an end to MPs crossing the parties. What l mean is this;we apportion seats by the number of votes each party gets and then political parties choose who to go to parliament. If those the appointed choose to resign from that party that seat remains for the political Party and then they can replace their person without by-elections. Think about maybe the delay in giving us the constitution can give way to this idea into our constitution Goodnight

  3. Mulongoti sit down!!!…yakunyokola njala mambala. You were in govt not too long ago…why didn’t you advise the govt ? Now that you are on the other side,,,you want to sound intelligent…makaka!!!
