Nkana beat relegation threaten and bottom placed Konkola Mine Police 3-1 in Kitwe to shift within seven points of FAZ Super Division leaders Zanaco.
Zeddy Saileti’s side took a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from striker Festus Mbewe and defender Christopher Munthali.
Mbewe made a dream return to action for Nkana after returning from his six-month loan spell at Golden Arrows in South Africa when he raced into the box to beat Evans Chewe in the 19th minute.
Munthali added Nkana’s second from the penalty spot in the 26th minute.
Five minutes later, Mine Police got on the scoresheet from the penalty spot when on-loan Nkana defender Warren Kunda converted a penalty.
Simon Bwalya sealed Nkana’s win in the 88th minute to see Nkana stay put in fifth place but move to 26 points from 13 games played with two matches in hand.
