Zanaco moved back into second place after a 2-0 home win over Konkola Blades at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
Numba Mumamba’s side secured the victory despite playing with ten men after Fackson Kapumbu was sent off for foul play in the 39th minute.
Goals from Ernest Mbewe and Moses Phiri in the 27th and 60th minutes respectively handed Zanaco the three points to see the move within seven points of leaders and defending champions Zesco United.
Zanaco have 53 points while Zesco have 60 with four games left to play.
The result also sees Power Dynamos, on 51 points, relegated back to third place after winning 2-0 on Saturday at home against National Assembly.
In the lunchtime kickoff at the same venue, Lusaka Dynamos threw away a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at home to Red Arrows.
Dynamos went 1-0 into the break thanks to a 27th minute Conlyde Luchanga goal.
However, Arrows hit back with two goals just before the hour mark when Lubinda Mundia equalized in the 53rd minute before Daniel Sibanda made sure of the 3 points in the 59th minute.
Dynamos stay in 11th place on 28 points while Arrows move to 6th, exchanging places with Nkwazi but tied on 38 points.
