Local Nutrition Groups work together to diversify family diets

THERE ARE NUMEROUS CARBOHYDRATES, SUCH AS CASSAVA, SWEET AND IRISH POTATOES, MILETS, YAM, RICE, UMUMBU, ETC, THAT CAN GO WITH VEGETABLES, MEAT AND FISH, LEGUMES, CERTAIN TYPES OF INSECTS, ETC. ZAMBIANS WOULD STARVE EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE BAGS OF SWEET POTATOES WHICH THEY EAT AS SNACKS BUT WHICH SHOULD PROPERLY BE PREPARED AND ACCOMPANIED WITH OTHER SAVORIES. AND WE HAVE ALL SORTS OF DRINKS SUCH AS MUNKOYO (SWEET BEER), CHIBWANTU, ETC. ALL THESE…

4. Many countries in the west import food from all over the world and end up wasting much of it. Western supermarkets have so much choice, their people do not know what to buy and end up eating takeaways. Zambia can do better than this. A good diet from the right mix of local produce is the strong foundation to a better future.
