Power earn fortunate draw at Buildcon

Power Dynamos made very little headway on Monday after toiling to a fortunate 1-1 away draw at promoted Buildcon at Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola.

Buildcon dominated Power the entire first half in a match their scored their first goal since they were promoted after three successive scoreless draws.

Maisha Chavada scored the historic goal in the 6th minute after he was left unmarked by Power’s defenders.

He was later denied a brace in the 26th minute when his header came off the post.

John Makwata will feel aggrieved after his 35th minute goal was unfairly ruled out for offside when TV replays showed otherwise.

Power then won a very lucky penalty in the 44th minute following a ball-to-hand by defender Moro Lamine.

Fwayo Tembo stepped up to convert the penalty to see the two sides go 1-1 into the break.

However Power emerged from the break the better side with great chances from Kennedy Mudenda in the 56th minute and Fwayo in the 68th minute going begging.

Godfrey Ngwenya then hit a poor header from close range with only goalkeeper Scott Ngokane to beat.

Meanwhile, Power are unbeaten after collecting their third draw from four games on 6 points and are 9th to exchange places with Nkana won 5 points.

Buildcon too are unbeaten but have 4 points and in 15th place.

And in the lunchtime kickoff, Forest Rangers handed Lusaka Dynamos their first defeat of the season.

Logic Chingandu converted a penalty in the 31st minute to see Forest collect their second league win of the season and rise to 5th on 7 points and three points behind leaders Zesco United.
