Chambeshi puts faith in Nkana’s Lusaka-based 12th man

Share

Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi has faith their Lusaka-based supporters will rule the 2018 Barclays Cup semifinal doubleheader and deliver that 12th man spirit they are accustomed too on the Copperbelt.

Nkana face their Kitwe arch-foes Power Dynamos on October 20 in a last four showdown at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

Green Buffaloes and Young Buffaloes will meet in the first semifinal kickoff at lunchtime.

The Kitwe derby Barclays Cup tie comes after both sides secured their semifinal places with wins in the last eight in front of a partisan crowd at home in Kitwe at Arthur Davies Stadium in September 29.

“I wish the game was played in maybe (at another natural venue) Ndola because of the supporters and all those involved but all the same, Lusaka is our second home base and we can play at any venue,” Chambeshi said.

Despite Nkana never winning the Barclays Cup, they are unbeaten in the competition against Power.

Nkana beat Power 2-0 in the 2014 quarterfinals on their way to a runners-up medal after losing 3-0 to Zesco United.
