The UPND has described Nominated Member of Parliament Raphael Nakachinda as a hungry politician who is struggling to prove his relevance to politics.
Commenting on the accusations by Mr Nakachinda that the UPND proposed for the reintroduction of the position of Deputy Ministers in the Constitution Amendment Bill 10 of 2019, UPND Deputy Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa said Mr Nakachinda is a treacherous man who cannot be trusted.
Mr Mweetwa refuted claims by Mr Nakachinda that UPND pushed for the reintroduction of the position of Deputy Minister as they are not in support of Bill 10 in its entirety.
“This is a man that was introduced to Politics by Dr Nevers Mumba because he was his handbag carrier but look at what he did to him, he betrayed Dr Mumba just to earn a living. He is not loyal”, said Mr Mweetwa.
Mr Mweetwa has urged Zambians not to trust Mr Nakachinda because he practices politics of the belly.
Speaking at the PF Media Interactive Forum yesterday, Mr Nakachinda accused the UPND of having proposed for the reintroduction of the position of Deputy Ministers.
“The UPND is on record proposing the reintroduction of Deputy Minister, but today who is signing the loudest saying the country doesn’t need deputy Minister? it’s the UPND”, said Mr Nakachinda.
He claimed that the UPND also demanded for the 50%+1, but wondered what has changed for them to reject this.
“The Siavonga Resolutions were left in the hands of the UPND led by the Lawyer who now wants to contest for MP for some constituency in Lusaka. But all of us as participants appended our signatures on that document because we had all agreed on the resolutions,” he says.
Mr. Nakacinda says it is shocking that the UPND have now turned away and rejecting resolutions that they were party of.
As Zambians we know each and every politicians just by looking at them,we are able to know who lies the most…even if Hon Nakachinda hides his faith with his hands we can still know who he is.
Bill 10 has been rejected by a lot of Zambians but I know some are supporting because a lot especially, members of parliament are not there to represent the interests of their people but those of their parties that campaigned for them.

Which Zambians have rejected bill 10? Do not lie to the Zambian people. I am Zambian and I know my mother, brothers , sisters , cousins nephews and some friend and grand children support bill 10.
Just reading this article, I have come to realise why Cornelius Mweetwa is such a lousy Parliamentary representative. He wants Nakachinda to be loyal to Never Mumba and not to the people of Zambia. This explains why Mweetwa’s loyalty is to Halusa Hagain and and not to the people of Choma central who put him in parliament.

My appeal to our leaders, please take his comments seriously. Do not just brush him aside. We are still perceived as a tonga party and we do very little to address those pperceptions. On the issue of bill 10 , even us your followers are not sure about what our party stands for apart from being told that our MPs will walk out of parliament when the bill is introduced. Please our leaders. we have an opportunity to win 2021, but the way we are addressing serious issues I am afraid we may kiss the dust again.

Nakachinda behaves like Simata Simata, Mpondela or Andrew Kamanga just solo public criminals, who commits crimes no Zambian court can prosecute.
LT, is this the main gist of the UPND’s Deputy spokesperson’s reaction or have you left something out? If it is then UPND should be reminded not to take the Zambian people for granted. This Nakachinda may be an unprincipled fellow, but it is still important to address the accusations he is making with more seriousness. Don’t just tell us about his character – we already know it! Show that you are a cut above the PF by responding comprehensively to issues raised! UPND, much of the support you are getting is because some people think you may be a viable alternative to PF. Be that alternative!!!
Chamu how I wish the entire UPND can read your comment. Responses to serious issues have been too shallow. Moreover, the voters across the country should be your targets for engagement. Stop this reactive approach to issues. You at times even respond to PF rantings which are not worthy of your time. Focus focus and focus again on the Zambians. Last evening I was watching the Sunday interview featuring PF MP Dr. Jonas Chanda. I wonder why President Lungu has not given such people high political positions. He spoke a lot of sense, unlike employing cadres like Bowman Lusambo, Sunday Chanda, Jean Kapata
Instead of attacking Rafa, Mweetwa should tell us Zambians what the upnd stand for in terms of these constitutional matters. As it looks right now, upnd have no plan on this matter except walk out of Parliament and draw their allowances after that.
When I listened to last interrupted debate at Inters, Jack kept telling us loudly that the new constitution review has removed parliamentary oversight on govt borrowing. It was not until the young man Makebi Zulu explained and quoted specific paragraphs of the consititution on how parliament still has the oeversight responsibility on loans aquistion did I realise some one is hiding the truth from us on this bill 10! I personally think the re-introduction of deputy ministers in welcome, since we have fewer number of ministries to that of opposition members of parliament. Positive results will be attained if we have each ministry with a minister and deputy minister from two different parties, so that they all learn to work together while lessening corrupt activities going on in most of these ministries. I mean, just imagine if HH was a vice president to H.E ECL?
I have never seen a party like upnd on the face of the Earth,a party which is so dull and not composed.They will never accept anything wrong or right.

You have shot yourself in the foot, you have not provided a single logic rebuttal , I must hasten here to say you have provided not even a un illogical one. Having listened to the entire speech of Nakachinda I cant continue trusting you if this is the way you can respond to that detailed serious and well articulated alleged accusations. Do damage control here ,though it will not change anything anyway .Nakachinda impressed me the way he brought out his account, He is a leader material , he spoke truly as man.
