Madison Life Insurance announces enhanced benefits under Funeral Grant Scheme

Madison Life Insurance has announced enhanced benefits under the Government Funeral Grant Scheme, aimed at providing improved social protection for public service employees and their families.

Speaking during a sensitisation meeting in Lusangazi District, Madison Life Insurance facilitator, Suwilanji Kaonga , said the scheme has continued to evolve since its introduction in 2016 through regular improvements informed by members’ feedback.

Ms Kaonga explained this in Lusangazi during a sensitization meeting on Government public services workers funeral scheme that parents were incorporated into the scheme in 2018 after initially not being covered, while the age limit for dependent children was increased from 21 to 25 years.

She added that additional benefit improvements introduced this year demonstrate Madison Life Insurance’s commitment to responding to the needs of members.

Ms Kaonga further urged members to utilise Madison Life’s official communication channels whenever they require assistance with claims or policy updates, while employment-related matters should be handled through human resource offices.

Meanwhile, District Administrative Officer, Codrington Sakala, commended Madison Life Insurance for conducting the sensitisation programme, describing the information shared as timely and beneficial.

Mr Sakala encouraged members of staff to carefully study the information provided and seek clarification whenever necessary to ensure they fully understand the scheme.

He said the knowledge acquired during the meeting would enable employees to make informed decisions regarding their future financial security.

The DAO further appealed to Madison Life Insurance to continue conducting similar sensitisation meetings, saying regular engagements are necessary to keep both existing and newly recruited staff updated on changes to the scheme.

He noted that many people only appreciate the value of insurance after unexpected events occur, adding that such meetings help prepare employees before such situations arise.
