    • I don’t agree with you Princess, football is just but another corner of the sporting world…they produce world and olympic champion athletes year after year at levels we can only dream about! Their captain spoke in Swahili after the match; our boys should adopt this behaviour…we are who we are!

    • So for you if a team loses a football match then its citizens are backward? I wonder where some of you come from cos surely after nine months in the womb and some years on this planet we should all have brains

  1. @Nubian princess: You can’t be jack in all fields. Last week, Kenya beat the whole world even USA, Britain, Jamaica and all the rest to top in the recently ended games in Beijing, China. So, losing in soccer does not mean we are useless. By the way, remind me which position was Zambia in those games? Just asking.

    • Spot on Man Kenya…I watched those games and we (Zambia) had only two participants (with our little girl poorly dressed 🙁 ) who never reached the finals! Hats off to Kenya for your great display in different fields…who would have thought Kenya would win the world championship in Javelin!!!!!!!!

  2. Well, it was good for Zambia, at least away from politics. I liked the way Kalengo played. He could be our next Godfrey “Ucar” Chitalu

  3. But our two defenders….position 2 & 3 were really poor. If it was a serious team like Ghana, we were going to be punished . The boys are still immature (in a good way). We need Christopher Munthali at the back as well as Bronson Chama or better still assess how good Nkausu is. The youth are ok but they must be blended nicely with the experience. That first goal was a hauler really due to the inexperience from Katebe and the two young players at the back. Let us not take chances over the backline. I think it was a luck win!!!

    • There were three howlers over the past weekend, all from Southern African teams. Just watch South Africa’s keeper allowing in the first Mauritania goal from a soft free kick, then watch Zimbabwe’s keeper letting in a Guinean goal and Zambia’s two amateur defenders allowing a man to come in between them

  4. It was a good win but going forward with the likes of Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana etc these boys need to step up on fitness. I know someone will blame it on the economy…lack of proper food, equipment, morale etc, but they have to do it if they want to win honours. Secondly, Lwandamina should not use old fashion style of playing defensive football when you are in the lead, by now even toddlers know that the best defence is attacking football I don’t know why he had to subject the team to that kind of play, we were lucky not to concede a penalty.

    • Hmmmm, even some of the worlds’ best coaches pack the bus, one Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho. Its just part of the game.

  5. @ prince,

swahili is their official language, so what language did you want our captain to use? And mind you swahili is just a language like any other.

however, kenyans should learn one or two lessons from us in terms of football and we should equally learn from them in terms of athletics

    • Learn what naimwe ba Kasongo? Zambians! After one little win they think the can fly to the moon! This team has been losing and losing and losing and everyone Zambian has been hiding from soccer expertise. Suddenly they want to show they are the professors of football.

    • My point exactly Kasongo…if you can’t articulate yourself in English, why try and look funny (lack of a better word?!) This official language nananana is not fair to millions of Zambians…just communicate in Nyanja and Bembe, Lozi and if the press are interested in your comments they will look for translators!

  6. @ Kasongo wa Kasongo: At times you should research before blogging. Claiming swahili is Kenya’s official language is an understatement. Our official language is English and if you doubt me, engage me in a one on one English competition and I will beat you pants down.

  7. Kenyans just admit you lost and you have never beaten Zambia before.
your football hooligans even started throwing cans on the pitch because of a loss. Shame on you Kenyans.

  8. WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD A BETTER RECORD THAN KENYA IN FOOTBALL , ALTHOUGH WE HAVE RARELY PLAYED THEM ! I MEAN EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT !
HOWEVER , KENYA WERE UNLUCKY TO LOSE THAT GAME ! IT WAS A BIG CHANCE FOR THEM TO WIN ! ZAMBIA PLAYED BELOW PAR ! ZAMBIA HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO PLAY MUCH BETTER THAN THEY DID !
AS FOR ATHLETICS , KENYA IS A WORLD BEATER AND CANNOT BE SPOKEN OF IN THE SAME BREATH AS ZAMBIA

  9. For those Zambians Claiming that Kenya only excels in Athletics, I wanna give you a breakdown of sports you need to research about Kenya and its perfomance in the world. Female Volleyball, Zambia will never beat us. Rugby, We have won the Singapore Sevens World Series. We Beat Everyone including the USA, FRANCE, BRITAIN, NEW ZEALAND, BRAZIL, ARGENTINA, FIJI…..Everyone. And I doubt you guys can beat us at cricket. FYI, if it’s not just for normal African Brotherly Respet, Zambia is not on the same level with Kenya. It will take you guys a while.
