2021 Debate: PF Provincial Youth Leader warns Tutwa Ngulube against crossing Party lines

The Patriotic Front Youth Provincial Chairperson in Central Province Moses Chilando has warned Kabwe Central Member of Parliament Hon Tutwa Ngulube against antagonizing Party structures in the Province. He has further asked Hon Ngulube to desist from issuing disparaging remarks as he does not represent any structure in the ruling Party.

“We find it totally unacceptable that a Junior member of the Party such as Hon Tutwa Ngulube should take to the media to attack the Secretary General of the Party and National Youth Chairperson, who are both members of the Central Committee. It is a lie that he was elected at the General Conference – in what capacity and under which provision of the Party Constitution does he continue to hold that position as Returning Officer? Further we wish to warn Hon Ngulube to stop masquerading as PF legal Counsel because he no longer serves in that position as he rightfully knows. It is unbefitting of lawyers to create distortions as he is doing in the media. The last General Conference only elected President Edgar Lungu as Party President and Hon Tutwa played the role of returning officer which is not a permanent structured position in the Party. That role ended with the election of the Party President and it’s beneath the conduct of Counsel to create wrong impressions in the public space”, said Mr. Chilando.

The Central Province Youth leader has also wondered how Hon Ngulube could question the powers of the Secretary General of the Party who is also Chief Executive Officer of the organization in removing him from his role as Legal Counsel. He said it is common knowledge that services such as legal are engaged by the Party through the Secretary General. “While the MP is speaking the same language as his preferred candidate for the Party Presidency, Article 56 of the Party Constitution is very clear about the powers of the Secretary General and as such we find the behaviour of Hon Tutwa Ngulube unbecoming and totally unacceptable.

It is indiscipline for an ordinary member of the Party such as Hon Ngulube to conduct himself in the manner he has done against Central Committee Members. It borders on gross indiscipline which the Provincial Executive Committee of the Party should not tolerate. We are hereby calling on the Provincial Executive Committee to take interest in this matter and instil discipline”, he has said.

Central Province Youth Chairperson has clarified that the Secretary General and National Youth Chairperson were simply reaffirming what the PF structures have demanded for without exception. “We wish to also make clear that the Secretary General and National Youth Chairperson reaffirmed what has been demanded for by the structures of the Party as the Chief Executive Officer has been touring the Provinces, having done seven out of 10 Provinces so far. We are alive to the matter before the Courts and its common sense that what is before the Courts is the question of Republican President and not Party President. Unless and until the Courts rule otherwise, the Party structures have said that they endorsed President Lungu for the 2020 Party General Conference and as the subsequent Candidate in the 2021 elections”, Mr. Chilando clarified.

Chambeshi geared for Italy match

Beston Chambeshi says that Zambia are worthy quarterfinalists at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup and deserve to be respected.

Zambia qualified to their debut FIFA U20 Cup quarterfinal on May 31 following a 4-3 win over Germany in extra-time in a last 16 game in Jeju.

The 2017 U20 AFCON champions now face Italy in the last 8 on June 5 in Suwon hoping to continue their trail-blazing run.

“The games that we have played are not easy games and the wins we have recorded are not flukes,” Chambeshi said.

“We have fought for them and played good football all I can say is we are meeting Italy.

“It is different ball game we have to respect them but the best team will carry the day.”

Italy will be the third European team Zambia will be playing in South Korea after beating Portugal 2-1 on May 21 in an opening Group C match and defeated Germany 4-3 in the last 16 on May 31.

“We have played two European teams and we expect a tough game,” Chambeshi said.

“We respect Italy and they should respect us and they have also reached this far.

“Both teams are playing good football but all we need is to prepare very well for the game both physically and mentally.”

Minister of Finance Felix Mutati says Zambia’s development pace will be dictated by tax compliance among citizens.Mr. Mutati has urged Zambians to embrace paying taxes saying the country can only develop through the hard work and sacrifice of the citizenry. He has also cautioned people who will fail to meet the tax amnesty deadline will face the law.

Speaking after touring Zambia Revenue Authority offices in Lusaka , Mr. Mutati said government gave the tax amnesty to defaulters to address business challenges and improve liquidity in the economy.

And Mr. Mutati has praised ZRA management for introducing the mineral value chain system for easy monitoring of mineral production levels. He said the country has in the past been grappling with the problem of determining mineral production levels.

And Mr. Mutati has directed ZRA management to decentralize the collection of turn over tax.He said the programme should be rolled out in Lusaka first before being introduced to other parts of the country.

And ZRA Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda disclosed that the Authority has managed to raise 4-hundred and 80 million Kwacha above target for the period starting January 1st 2017 to May 31st 2017.Mr. Chanda also disclosed that ZRA has so far received over 89 thousand applications under the tax amnesty programme from small and medium businesses and has raised One hundred and Five million Kwacha from the exercise.

He however complained of poor tax compliance levels in the economy and the usage of cash transactions as major challenges ZRA is facing.

Wynter Kabimba is a political nonentity who does not deserve to be responded to-Kambwili

Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili
Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili
ROAN Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has described Rainbow Party general secretary Wynter Kabimba as a political nonentity who does not deserve to be responded to.

Mr Kambwili said in an interview yesterday that he could not respond or give a view on Mr Kabimba’s opinion about him because the Rainbow Party leader was not worth it politically.

The former minister of Information and Broadcasting was responding to a comment by Mr Kabimba on Thursday saying that firing Mr Kambwili from cabinet was the best thing that President Lungu had done since taking up office.

Mr Kabimba said that Mr Kambwili should not condemn President Edgar Lungu and the PF for the choices they were making with regards to choosing a candidate for the 2021 elections and other matters because he had no moral right to do so.

He said Mr Kambwili supported the party choices when it suited him previously and should not therefore complain over similar decisions now.

The Rainbow Party leader was responding to a question on the ‘Burning Issue’ 5FM Radio programme on what he thought about the in-house differences in the PF involving Mr Kambwili.

Mr Kabimba said Mr Kambwili should not complain over the decisions of the party because not so longer ago, he supported the same decisions.

He said Mr Kambwili was complaining because he had been fired as Information minister by President Lungu.

But Mr Kambwili said yesterday that he would not respond to Mr Kabimba.

“Go tell Wynter that he is a political nonentity on whom I can’t waste time responding to,” he said.

Mr Kambwili said people would not notice the difference between him and Mr Kabimba if he responded to the allegations.

The Roan MP has clashed with the PF leadership on many occasions after he was fired in 2016 and has issued various statements condemning PF and Government.

ntlet onto Swedish companies whom she’s urged to quickly bring their investment into the Zambian energy sector.

This is according to Mr Anthony Mukwita the Charge d Affairs in Sweden who accompanied the Permanent Secretary to an energy indaba in Malmo the 3rd largest city in Sweden today.

“We have embarked on a Cost Reflective Tariff system in the Zambian energy sector that makes investing in the sector profitable now more than ever before,” Mrs Chola said.

An upward adjustment in power tariffs and eventual removal of subsidies that left a huge hole in the government treasury is expected to attract Foreign Direct Investment in the Zambian energy sector according to the PS.

Several Swedish companies domiciled in Stockholm moved to Malmo to have side line discussions today with the PS on how they could take a bite onto the Zambian energy cherry pie following the announcement of forthcoming competitive tariffs that will eventually plug the power deficit and make Zambia an energy power hub that can earn money through energy supply in the near future according to Brig General Chola.

Mr Mukwita said the presence of a high-level government official has convinced energy investors here that Zambia means business in opening its energy sector to international business.

Mrs Chola was the Key Note speaker at the two-day energy event that concludes May 31.

Zambia has escalated its economic diplomacy call and is looking at various opportunities to make its presence in missions abroad count. Last week Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba hit the road in Scandinavia with an escalated engagement in economic diplomacy.

Mr Mukwita said it would be a matter of time before ordinary people start to benefit from the efforts of various high level participation.

President Edgar Lungu has emphasised that he wants nothing but greater job creation and poverty reduction on his watch and the energy sector long ignored as unprofitable is one such avenue.

Zambia needs to be mentally and physically ready when they face Italy-Chambeshi

COACH Beston Chambeshi
COACH Beston Chambeshi
COACH Beston Chambeshi has said Zambia would need to be mentally and physically ready when they face Italy on Monday and reach the semi-finals of the ongoing FIFA Under-20 World Cup finals here in South Korea.

Chambeshi said he was expecting another tough match against a third European side Zambia would face in this competition adding that the Italians were a good side but beatable.

“The boys will need to be mentality and physically ready, they have played big teams here already and have fought the war before. So they have to be strong enough on the pitch so that we meet Italy in a good frame of mind,” he said.

Zambia eliminated Germany 4-3 in the round of 16 in Jeju while Italy overcame their rivals France 2-1 in the other tie played in Cheonan.

“We have played two European teams (Portugal and Germany) already and those were very tough games and we equally expect a tough game against Italy. This is a game that brings two sides playing good football but we have to respect each other for having reached this far,” he said.

Chambeshi said he was confident that his players would overcome any obstacle in-front of them as they target winning the title.

“I am enjoying the games, a good tournament and yes we have had tough games but my boys are strong and courageous to face any obstacle in-front of them. We have to continue believing in ourselves,” he said.

Chambeshi said Zambia is a footballing nation and it was not surprising that the team has reached this far in the competition surpassing the 1999 and 2007 teams.

“Games have not been easy and our wins have not been flukes because we fought for them and we have been playing good football. Italy would be a different ball game, I expect a good game and may the best team carry the day,” he said.

He thanked Zambians for the support rendered to the team and urged them to do the same on Monday and coming games.

Meanwhile, the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games memories have continued to be re-rekindled in Chambeshi’s mind when he learnt of Zambia’s opponents in the quarterfinals.

“Fresh memories indeed, we beat them (Italy) but it was not easy….I think we won them 2-0 in the President’s Cup and at the Olympics 4-0. They have got fresh memories also but yes these are new boys with new style of play and were not involved that time,” he said.

And the Italians arrived in Suown yesterday and are accommodated at the Ramada Hotel, same as the Zambian team.

I’m still hurting from Tayali’s facebook posts, IG tells court

70
President Edgar Lungu with I.G Kakoma Kanganja at KK international airport upon his return from South Africa

INSPECTOR General (IG) of Police Kakoma Kanganja has told a Lusaka magistrate’s court that he is still hurting from allegations made against him in Facebook posting by Chilufya Tayali that suggested he had something to do with the Mongu incident over which opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema has been accused of treason.

Mr Kanganja said Tayali’s posting made in April in the aftermath of the incident involving Mr Hakainde’s motorcade and that of President Edgar Lungu as they headed for the Kuomboka ceremony, was ” 100 per cent criminal” and a clear indictment of him to be charged with treason.

Mr Kanganja testified that the posting brought ridicule, hatred, contempt and uproar in society as most people were calling for his resignation.

“I was shocked when I read the article. It is still paining me. I swore to protect the Constitution of Zambia and the President as well as everyone, Hichilema included. This article brought hatred were people started calling for my resignation,” he said.

Tayali has been charged with the offence of libel, under section 191 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

This is a substituted offence and when the matter came up yesterday for opening of trial, the accused took a fresh plea and denied the charge.

Particulars are that Tayali on April 13, 2017 with intent to defame Mr Kanganja did unlawfully write and publish on social media, Facebook a defamatory statement saying:

Kanganja is just covering his inefficiency to charge Hakainde Hichilema with treason, otherwise he should be an accomplice, where was his police to clear the way long before? “That should have never happened, but maybe Kanganja planned it that way to kill the President or frame Hichilema…which statement injured the reputation of Kanganja by exposing him to hatred, contempt and ridicule,” read the particulars of the offence.

The IG said he became aware about the writings through numerous phone calls from a cross-section of the society and was forced to ask for a printout from Zambia Information Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA).

And in cross-examination Tayali sent the court into laughter when he said that he felt not protected by the court as he felt intimidated to cross-examine the IG because of the way he was responding.

Magistrate Felix Kaoma then told him that he was protected by the court and asked him to go ahead.

The accused applied for an adjournment because he wanted to come with some audio and visual recordings to defend himself.

Matter comes up on July 17 this year for continued trial.

The Road Transport and Safety Agency has suspended the road service licence for Kapena Bus Company for violating the conditions upon which the operator’s licence was granted.

In a letter dated 2nd June 2017, RTSA Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Zindaba Soko has stated that findings from the investigations into the Luangwa accident involving a Kapena bus registration number ABP 6303 have proved that the operator neglected or failed to ensure that the bus in question was fit to be used to carry passengers after the change of the brakes was done and thereby occasioned danger to the travelling public.

It has also been established that the driver and the operator defied the provisions of the Statutory Instrument (SI) No. 76 of 2016 which restricts the movement of Public Service Vehicles (PSV) at night.

The Agency has given Kapena Bus Company 24 hours to cease operations and thereafter none of their buses shall be expected to be on the road.

The RSL will only be restored subject to the operator meeting the conditions that the Agency has set to address the findings from the accident investigations.

On the 23rd May 2017, a motor vehicle Scania Marcopolo Bus registration number ABP 6303 operating under a road service licence No. 163140 was involved in an accident were 17 people died and several injured at around 21:00 hours few kilometers before the Luangwa Bridge.

Accident investigations conducted by the RTSA have established that the accident was caused following the re-adjustment of the brakes by the bus crew as the bus was reported to be brake binding. The findings from the preliminary investigations also indicate that the bus crew were seen under the bus possibly re-adjusting the brakes so as to minimise brake binding.

Mpika District Council responds to Sichone’s ultimatum

2

Mpika District Council has commenced the drilling of boreholes in response to Muchinga Province Minister Malozo Sichone ‘s seven day ultimatum for the local authority to do so .

The local authority has consequently drilled three boreholes in Lulamba , Shanghai and Depot Compound respectively, in Mpika District.

Mr. Sichone recently gave the local authority the ultimatum in an effort to curb the water situation and fight typhoid outbreak in the District.

ZANIS reports that Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe has confirmed development in a telephone interview in Mpika District , today.

Mr. Nundwe said that three boreholes are under construction in the named areas adding that residents in the areas are expecting to start drawing water from them by tomorrow.

The Provincial Administration and Mpika District council are working together to ensure that the drilling of boreholes is done promptly as the Provincial Administration has provided equipment  for the exercise.

Mr. Nundwe says it is government’s desire for Mpika residents to have clean drinking water.

He disclosed that all shallow wells in Tazara will be closed adding that  the affected residents will be required to cooperate with the District Council during that period as it is to their own benefits

Meanwhile, Principal Environmental Health Technologist, Paul Muma says typhoid cases as of today have increased to 152 .

Mr. Muma said a total number of 6 patients are admitted at Chilonga Mission Hospital and Micheal Chilufya Sata Hospital.

Govt cautions against flouting labour laws

Government has cautioned human resource practitioners to desist from flouting the country’s labour laws.
Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale says  a well-managed industrial relations environment contributed greatly to sustainable industrial peace in the country.
“As government we expect all human resource managers in the country to appreciate and correctly interpret the labour laws and advise their employers accordingly. In this regard, we are urging all employers to engage qualified Zambians as human resource managers,” he said.

Dr Hamukale said in Livingstone today at the 2017 Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) Annual General Meeting at Avani Victoria Falls Resort.
He said it was evident the Institute was one of the major national stakeholders as its members were the ones strategically positioned to foster good industrial relations by promoting dialogue among parties involved in employment relations.

“You are there as a professional body whose members are not mere custodians of disciplinary codes and faithful keepers of employment contracts but people who should play a strategic role in Zambia’s business environment,” he said.

Dr Hamukale further stated that as indicated in the objectives of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management Act number 11 of 1997, the Institute was critical in the development of the country and particularly in improvement of productivity in various organizations.

“As you are certainly aware, the greatest asset any country has is its human capital. Therefore, the success of our nation will depend on the quality of human resources available,” he said.

He called on the Institute to offer expert advice to government as it had the responsibility to formulate a national human resource policy to promote and support its economic and social activities

Zambia is a democracy

Paul Moonga
Paul Moonga

By Paul Moonga

Recent accusations that the Zambian government is a dictatorship borders cannot pass without comment.

There have been a myriad of accusations from the international community that Zambian Government is a dictatorship. I wish to categorically these malicious allegations with all the contempt available.

Zambia cannot be governed by foreign powers and its status as a democracy cannot be distorted by the arrest of one person.

Foreign powers must understand their boundaries and stop popping their nose into the internal affairs of the country.

Zambia practices organized democracy where laws take precedence while all the ingredients of a functional democracy including the conduct of transparent and credible elections are followed and respected by all citizens.

Therefore, the branding of Zambia as a dictatorship is mischievous and meant to put the Zambian government under worthless pressure to the benefit of an individual politician.

Last month, the country woke up to a ruthless, reckless and undiplomatic attack by our former colonial masters, the European Community which accused the Zambian Government of Human Rights abuses.

The statement amounts to direct interference into the affairs of a sovereign nation, in this case Zambia.

The EU Parliament does not need any reminder that they colonized Africa and took away our wealth. We will no longer accept any form of recolonization coming in form of Human Rights which they abused a few decades ago by killing many Africans in the name of colonization. There come back from the back-door is utter nonsense and our government must stand firm and rubbish these attempts.

Hakainde Hichilema

Hakainde Hichilema they are referring to is suspected to have committed an offence under the law of the Republic of Zambia and was arrested by the police after several gatherings when he announced his decision not to recognize President Edgar Lungu as Head of State.

Hichilema conducted several press conferences where he said he won the elections of August 2016. This clearly amounts to usurping the powers of a duly elected Government which is a criminal offence in our statutes. On top of that, the opposition leader to refused to give way to the police in his continued attempt to undermine a sitting President.

If Europe continues accusing the Zambian Government of abusing Human Rights on account f arresting an alleged law breaker, they should tell the World what it means to send back hundreds of illegal immigrants intending to settle in their countries, back to the oceans to suffer.

Europe must be ignored because the Zambian Government allowed Mr Hichilema to express his opinions and declare himself Head of State for several months but his arrogance reached the head to an extent where he started blocking President Edgar Chagwa Lungu’s motorcade.

There is no civilized or uncivilized state today which can allow any citizen of its country to behave in the manner Mr Hichilema was behaving after losing the Presidential election.

In the name of protecting democracy, the Zambian Government tolerated him for so many months but every democracy has laws. The EU has promoted a thought that Human Rights end where the rights of another start and we believe Mr Hichilema is not the only Zambian who has Rights. His rights equally end where the rights of others start.

The EU MPs must know that Zambia has laws which cut across every Zambian whether in politics or not and that is why the government has said he must be cleared by the Courts of law.

So in the final analysis, I wish to condemn in the strongest terms the decision by the EU to exert unnecessary pressure on the Zambian government on a law breaker. The man they seem to support publicly broke the law and the EU kept quiet until he was arrested.

EU Parliament should have been brave and condemn HH for his actions and then ask the Zambian Government to find a solution to his predicament instead of taking sides all the time in favour of the opposition.

Vernon Mwaanga

Mr Vernon Johnson Mwaanga is a finished, spent and overused politician who pretends to understand democracy but the Government was worse in Human Rights abuses when he was Minister in the MMD Government.

I want to remind Mr Mwaanga that Zambians have not forgotten when he closed Radio Phoenix by canceling the licenses with a trace of justifications. His decision to mount a globe-trotting mission to damage the Zambia’s democratic credentials is an act of a finished politician seeking relevance in a very advanced system.

Mr Mwaanga has continued to denounce the Government and pretends to be the author of the country’s democracy in the eyes of the International Community. His alliance with the Mast Newspaper is a tired and empty effort aimed at winning political favors for his party, the United Party for National Development (UPND).

As PF, we will not spare him and I wish to challenge him to come and start campaigning for his party so that we can handle in an open political battle field. Mr Mwaanga should not continue hiding behind the veil of veteran politician when his views slanted towards rendering support to his party. Mr Mwaanga was recently quoted as saying the Government was suppressing views of critics without justifying his utterances.

The Mast Newspaper

Last week, the Newspaper carried a story which quoted UPND president Hakainde Hichilema. This is a deliberate action by the Newspaper to transverse the law because they know that a person detained for criminal activities does not have the right to appear in newspapers. He loses all the privileges, according to the Zambian law.

The Newspaper is deliberately taking steps to breach the law knowing too well that Mr Hichilema stands on very weak grounds. Any statements he issues on his own criminal matters can easily be interpreted as contempt of court which will land both the newspaper and the opposition leader in trouble.

This shows that Mr Hichilema is a very arrogant character who dares the law even after he has been arrested.

I wish to condemn both the Mast and Mr Hichilema for this illegal action.

Northern Province Minister Brian Mundubile says oil exploration project for block 31 in Northern Province will be launched next month.

Provincial Minister Brian Mundubile said Tullow Oil the company engaged to carry out the exploration exercise has since invited President Edgar Lungu to officially launch the project which will run for four years.

ZANIS reports that the provincial minister disclosed the development in an interview adding that the firm has also lined up a number of consultative meetings with different stakeholders in areas where the oil exploration will be conducted.

Mr. Mundubile , who is also Mporokoso Member of Parliament, said Tullow oil is scheduled to carry out intense desk and air studies over a period of six months hence the need for all stakeholders to fully understand the project.

And the provincial minister has revealed that his office will engage Tullow Oil Company to consider introducing specialized courses at trades and skills training schools in the province as part of their social responsibility programmes.

Trade muffled as Zambia holds onto Namibian trucks

22

Windhoek –Zambian authorities are detaining 70 drivers and have impounded 200 Namibian trucks that were carrying timber from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The trucks have been impounded for about five months and this has so far cost the trucks owners about R100 million, according to the Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), which is demanding the immediate release of the trucks.

The trucks were impounded because Zambian laws prohibits the harvesting of Mukula timber in the country.

The Mukula timber in the Namibian trucks was, however, harvested by businesses operating in the DRC with valid permits from the government of the DRC to do so.

The Namibian truckers were simply transporting goods from the suppliers to the clients and were never involved in the harvesting of the timber.

The trucks carried timber from the DRC with valid documentations which were inspected by Zambian customs officials and found to be valid and authentic.

The Zambian authorities even sealed the cargo at the Kasumbalesa border post between DRC and Zambia which under normal circumstances would be inspected again at the Sesheke-Katima Mulilo border post.

The Zambian authorities agreed that the drivers had valid and authentic documents at the border and that the trucks were carrying goods legally, but the same authorities still impounded trucks.

At the time of transporting the timber, Zambia had only banned the harvesting of the Mukula timber on their territory, but not the transportation if that timber came from a different country.

The trucks drivers’ situation has, however, been made difficult by the fact that Zambia, as of April 2017, passed a law that no timber is allowed to be transported in the country.

NCCI chief executive officer Tarah Shaanika said as a result of the impounding, the drivers have been living in deplorable and inhumane conditions in Zambia for the past five months, far away from their families.

“Their trucks have been stationary in Zambia without generating income and some of our members are at risk of losing their businesses all together,” he said.
NCCI said they have engaged the Namibian and Zambian authorities several times but to no avail.

This situation is likely to affect the relations between the two countries as well as result in a setback for regional integration as promoted by SADC.

The three countries have a corridor (Walvis Bay–Ndola–Lubumbashi corridor) developed to promote trade within the region and with the outside world. A lot of efforts were made to promote this transport corridor.

The corridor was signed into agreement by the three governments in 2010 and this enable it to increase the movements of goods along the corridor.
Shaanika said people must not forget that it’s Zambia and DRC who use this corridor more, compared to Namibia.

“Unfortunately, there were also more goods destined for Zambia and DRC from the Port of Walvis Bay in comparison with goods from Zambia and DRC to Namibia or to the outside world via the port of Walvis Bay.”

He added that one of the products identified to be transported as a return load from the DRC to the port of Walvis Bay was timber and the main market destination was China.

A number of trucks from various countries, primarily Namibia, Zambia, DRC, Tanzania and South Africa started taking timber from the DRC as a return load.

Shaanika said it was unfortunate and regrettable that the Zambian authorities decided to impound trucks for such a long time instead of impounding the products which they were trying to protect.

He added that the impounding of the trucks had harmed the Namibian economy severely, at a time the country’s economy was not doing well.

“There is clear evidence of the impact of the impounding of our trucks on the transport and logistics sector in Namibia. There is currently a lot of cargo that cannot be transported out of the port of Walvis Bay due to lack of trucks because so many of them are kept standing in Zambia.”

Zambian High Commissioner to Namibia Stella Libongani, could not be reached for comment.

But speaking to the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation yesterday, deputy commissioner Dorothy Nachilongo said this does not signify a political fight between the two countries and a solution would be found soon.
