President Lungu when he paid a courtesy call on Chieftainess Mpanshya in Rufunsa District
Chieftainess Mpanshya of the Soli people of Rufunsa District has commended President Edgar Lungu for showing political will to roll-out developmental projects across the country in a non-selective manner.
ZANIS reports that Chieftainess Mpanshya is happy that rural areas like Rufunsa district are receiving their fair share of development without any discrimination.
The traditional leader said Rufunsa District has received its fair share of development following its declaration as a district three years ago.
Chieftainess Mpanshya was speaking through her representative Chrispin Njobvu during the Chiwela Kumunshi traditional ceremony of the Soli people of Rufunsa District in Lusaka Province yesterday.
Scores of people from other parts of the country yesterday joined Chieftainess Mpanshya in presiding over her inaugural Chiwela Kumunshi traditional ceremony since ascending to the throne last year.
The traditional leader cited the upgrading of Mpanshya and Chinyunyu Primary Schools into fully fledged secondary schools, construction of her modern palace, and health posts among others as some of the projects taking place in her chiefdom.
She noted that the re-election of President Edgar Lungu and the PF will further spur social and economic development in Rufunsa District and the country as whole.
Chieftainess Mpanshya further noted that President Lungu’s re-election is also a clear testimony of the trust and confidence Zambian people have in his leadership.
The traditional leader however appealed to government to continue grading feeder roads in order to open up the district and enhance food production and economic activities.
And speaking at the same function, Lusaka Province Minister Japhen Mwakalombe has reassured the people that government will complete all on-going developmental projects in the province.
Mr Mwakalombe said the connection of Rufunsa district to the national power grid, construction of the district administration block, civic centre and other infrastructure are on course.
Mr. Mwakalombe who is also PF Chongwe Member of Parliament praised Chieftainess Mpanshya for allocating land to government to construct various infrastructure projects in the district.
Meanwhile, Acting Rufunsa District Commissioner Judith Chama has implored parents and guardians against perpetuating the vice of marrying off young girls in the district.
Mrs. Chama, who bemoaned the high cases of child marriages in the district, revealed that the district administration, Child Fund and the Mpanshya Royal Establishment (MRE) have since come together to fight the vice.
The Acting District Commissioner hailed Chieftainess Mpanshya for being instrumental in outlawing bad cultural practices that disadvantage girls and women in her chiefdom.
The traditional ceremony was attended by Senior Chief Mburuma of Luangwa district, Chief Mutunda from Mozambique and Chieftainess Shikabeta also of Rufunsa District.
Others in attendance were UPND Rufunsa Member of Parliament, Sheal Mulyata, Feira Independent Member of Parliament Stephen Miti, Rufunsa District Council Chairperson Batholomeu Kalambalala, District Commissioners from Lusaka province and other senior government officials.
The Chiwela Kumunshi traditional ceremony of the Soli people in Chieftainess Mpanshya is held to celebrate the harvest from the previous farming season and pray for a good harvest in the forthcoming farming season.
Dr Edify Hamukale Minister Southern Provonce with Richard Kapita North Western Minister
Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale has challenged young people in the country to take a leading role in restoring unity in the country.
Dr Hamukale said young people today have a pivotal role to play of unifying the country especially that their parents hail from different provinces and are beneficiaries of ethnic co-existence.
The Minister said government is looking forward to continued free movement of people and resources to all provinces without any form of victimization.
Speaking when he addressed pupils at Hillcrest Technical National Secondary School, in Livingstone today, Dr Hamukale said it was regrettable that the ‘One Zambia, one nation’ motto was almost lost due to violence and ethnic intolerance.
“You young people have the task of teaching us how to unite this country. Failure to do so puts you in a difficult situation because you are the ones who are most affected when ethnic differences arise,” he said.
Dr Hamukale further said the technical school had produced credible leaders who contributed immensely to the country’s development and urged the pupils to emulate them.
And Hillcrest Technical National Secondary School Head Girl Grace Mbofwana said the reduction of school fees had impacted negatively on operations at the school.
Mbofwana said pupils can no longer enjoy certain foods as the school is not in a position to afford them or even carry out external maintenance services.
She appealed to the provincial minister to intervene in the matter.
Dr Hamukale is in Livingstone touring development projects and other facilities ahead of the installation of Livingstone Mayor Elect Eugine Mapuwo scheduled for tomorrow Monday.
Southern Province Permanent Secretary Mr. Sibanze Simuchoba delivering his speech during the inaugural Samu Lya Moomba Lwiindi traditional Ceremony of the Tonga speaking people of Choongo Chiefdom
Government has secured K 1, 240, 000.00 through UNICEF and other cooperating partners for construction of 20 boreholes in Kazungula district.
Eleven of the boreholes will be constructed in Nyawa chiefdom at a cost of K682, 000.00
Southern Province permanent Secretary Sibanze Simuchoba disclosed the development in a speech read on his behalf by Provincial Chief Human Resource Management Officer Daggoh Chitendwe during the Guta Mwenze Bbwe traditional ceremony of the Tonga people of Kazungula district held yesterday.
Mr Simuchoba said the contractor, China Gansu has since moved on site following signing of the contract on September 1 this year.
He said government is working hard to uplift the living standards of its people in all the 10 provinces.
Mr Simuchoba said President Edgar Lungu has taken keen interest in the welfare of the people of southern province and is working tirelessly to open up the province to development.
The permanent secretary noted that apart from agriculture, the national sustainable development goals place infrastructure development as one of the key sectors that will drive the country’s economy to achieve vision 2030.
And residents of Nyawa chiefdom have expressed gratitude to government for providing the water points.
And chief Nyawa thanked government for the on-going programme of sinking boreholes but said there was need for more water points in the area due to the vastness of the chiefdom.
The chief pointed out that the area is experiencing water challenges as a result of the poor rainfall experienced last season.
The traditional leader also expressed concern at the poor state of bridges and appealed to government to treat the matter with urgency and quickly repair them.
Meanwhile, Chief Nyawa has asked government to realign his chiefdom to Zimba district.
The traditional leader said the chiefdom is closer to Zimba district administration than Kazungula.
Chief Nyawa disclosed that about 8,000 subjects who have attained the age of 30 have failed to obtain the green national registration card due to the long distance people have to cover from his chiefdom to Kazungula registration office.
“Personally, I have no problem with being in Kazungula but my people are suffering, “he stressed.
The Chief observed that farmers without NRCS were forced to engage middlemen to sell their maize resulting in some of them being swindled.
Government has called for continued partnership with stakeholders especially communities to improve access to education for children.
Ministry of General Education Regional Education Officer Allan Lingambe said government alone cannot manage to provide education to the expectations of everyone.
Dr. Lingambe was speaking in a speech read for him by Guidance and Administration Senior Education Officer, Pimpa Mtolo, during the Anoya Zulu Parents, Teachers’ Association (PTA) annual general meeting held in Chipata yesterday.
He observed that government has prioritised scaling up provision of education in order to meet the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
He emphasized that there was need to help educate, mould and mentor children in a way that would benefit them.
‘’ It is therefore by educating the child that poverty, sickness and other social problems can be eradicated. This way, we light up the future of our children, communities and the nation at large,’’ Dr. Lingambe said.
The Provincial Education Officer said cost sharing in education can help improve and provide extra infrastructure and human materials and financial resources needed to enhance provision of education.
He added that it was the duty of parents to meet other costs by paying user fees to enable the school run various programmes like sports, educational clubs, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure, among others.
Meanwhile, there was a heated debate between the parents, the PTA Executive and the school administration when the school proposed to increase user fees by 100 per cent.
Some parents felt a 100 percent increment was too high especially that most of them had not yet paid for their children this year.
The school justified the proposal arguing that it needs to construct a hall, a staff room and a basketball court which were not available at the learning institution.
The meeting later agreed to add a K 100 to the user fees which were previously pegged at K 250-00 per term.
The School’s financial report also revealed that K 346, 490.00 had not been collected for the financial year 2015 from the school’s 1, 476 pupils.
UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has suspended party Vice President Politics Dr Canisius Banda for gross misconduct.
In letter dated 22 September, 2016, Mr Hichilema explains that in addition to other negative activities, Dr Banda has issued several inflammatory, derogatory and defamatory statements against other senior members of the Party.
He said the news articles in the Daily Nation edition of the 17th and19th attributed to him had brought the name of the Party into ridicule and public odium in the minds of right thinking Zambians.
“In addition to other negative activities, it has been brought to my attention that you have been issuing inflammatory, derogatory and defamatory statements against other senior members of the Party. You have to note that the Daily Nation edition of the 17th and 19th carried headline news articles attributed to you which have brought the name of the Party into ridicule and public odium in the mind of right thinking Zambians.
” please note that I have made several attempts to discuss the same with you but to no avail. In the premises, by virtue of the powers vested in me under Article 74(d) of our Constitution, you are hereby charged with gross misconduct, you have seven days from the date here of which to exculpate yourself pertaining to the charge leveled against you,” reads the letter in part which has been copied to Party Vice President Admin, National Chairperson and the Secretary General.
Dr Banda has been a subject of impending defection to the PF among Party members an issue he has categorically denied.
Meanwhile, the UPND Leader Mr Hakainde Hichilema has vowed to be heard in response for an intra-party petition to reach a logical conclusion.
Responding to a petition by UPND women, youths and UPND Parliamentarians who demanded from their leader to report the matter to the International Criminal Court (ICC), Mr. Hichilema assured petitioners that once Zambian courts are exhausted, the matter will reach the International Court of Justice.
Mr. Hichilema has implored the Zambian people to remain steadfast in pursuit of justice.
And Mr. Hichilema says UPND leaders will today wear their party regalia and go to eat a meal at Kabwata Market.
Her short Afro hairstyle and matching dimples always make her stand out in a crowd. Kwasila Kungu is no ordinary woman. She is the daughter of the mighty King Eddy, the king of the Dambia kingdom. Little was known about her before her father ascended to the throne. Word on the street is that her numbers of qualifications can only be equalled by one, Roberto Mugabe the king of the neighbouring Zimbo Kingdom. She couldn’t help smiling as she walked into the office building of the kingdom`s ruling party the PF.
“Hello princess Kwasila what can I do for you?” asked David Pwila, the party`s new Secretary General.
“Hello sir. I hope this is not a wrong time for me to see you, especially looking at the fact that you are still mourning, after you lost your parliamentary seat in Chilupili constituency,” said the ever confident Kwasila.
“No, no dear, far from it. How can I complain when your father our mighty king Eddy has appointed me as Secretary General of the party? There is more to life than losing constituencies my dear, ever heard of the saying, “starring tafwa” before? So what can I do for you princess?” he responded.
“I am here because I want to stand as deputy mayor of Kulusaka?” replied Kwasila without mincing any words.
“Oh my God! What did you just say princess?” responded the shocked David Pwila.
“I said that I want to stand as deputy mayor,” she said.
“No my dear, no. We have already lined up Chrisantus Shakafulwa for the position. He is the one we want,” he said. He was trying hard not to show his disappointment. But his frown gave him away.
“What?! Who is we? Don`t you think that I have the constitutional right to stand?” asked the dejected Kwasila.
“We decided as the central committee, you see princess, Shakafulwa has been a councillor for some time now and he played a big role in our campaigns. It is only fair that we insulate him from any form of competition, especially from people like you,” he responded.
“What?! Is that the only reason you think Shakafulwa deserves the position? What happened to democracy in this party?” asked the annoyed Kwasila.
“My dear democracy only works when it suits us, it is conditional. In this case democracy must take a back seat. You can’t overrule the central committee. We have decided…its done and anyone who will vote for you will be expelled from the party, including you. Get some experience first as councillor then we can talk,” said the adamant David Pwila.
“You are kidding me right? Well if you think you can sit on my constitutionally enshrined rights, then you are messing with a wrong lady. In case you didn’t know, I am a seasoned social change advocate. I am very versed in civic matters and unfair treatment, and this doesn’t sit well with me. And you are telling me to get experience first? What experience does Wilson Twalumba the current mayor have?
Has he served as councillor before? No. So what makes you think I need experience? I will stand whether you like it or not, as long as I qualify nobody will stop me. Bye bye secretary general. My condolences once again for your loss in Chilupili,” she said before turning to leave.
“Princess wait!” shouted the desperate David Pwila. Kwasila had already slammed the door shut behind her. The following day David Pwila was disappointed to hear that Kwasila had filed in her candidature. “God why?!” he asked his maker, before he found consolation in a bottle of whiskey.
On September 13th 2016, the PF crossed the defining line. Against all law, wisdom and morality they proceeded to inaugurate President Lungu. This is in the hope that the event would sanitize the controversial and abused electoral and judicial systems.
The just ended election was fraudulently won. This singular action by the PF has introduced a new culture of disregard for law and order. President Lungu has distinguished himself as a leader who has no regard for the constitution. Zambians should not relent in ensuring that justice is served fairly.
Since the entry of Mr Edgar Lungu into presidential politics, he has survived by disregard for the law.
Some troubling examples are as follows:
1. At the 2014 National Convention for the PF, he brushed aside constitutional provisions of his own party and was elected by a show of hands by illegitimate delegates.
2. Towards the 2015 Presidential elections, President Lungu in league with former president Rupiah Banda decided to usurp power of the MMD executive committee and created an alliance between PF and MMD knowing very well that Mr Banda was not the President of MMD. They campaigned using the symbols of the two parties. He once again demonstrated a lack of respect for the rule of law.
3. In May this year, President Lungu sponsored a meeting which he called an MMD Convention and illegally installed his own president. With no legality, he used the government media to prop up Mr Mutati as the President of MMD when MMD is fully operational with its entire national leadership, led by myself. The Supreme Court however ruled against his unlawful conduct and confirmed that MMD was still under our leadership, but even with this ruling, the public media has continued with the unlawful propaganda.
4. When Parliament was dissolved in May 2016, against legal advice, President Lungu decided to keep the ministers in their government positions against the constitution. The ConCourt later ruled that his action was unconstitutional.
5. On 19th August when the opposition petitioned Mr Lungu’s election, he refused to step aside to allow the Speaker of the National Assembly to act as president as per constitutional provision.
These are just but a few misdeeds of this President. To President Lungu none of these breaches bother him.
We would like to encourage all Zambians that the race towards justice has just began. It is not over until the justice system provides answers to the many difficult questions Zambians are asking. Why hasn’t the petition been heard?
Why didn’t President Lungu step aside after the petition was filed? Why did three Judges of the ConCourt illegally write a ruling which was not applied for by either the petitioners or the respondents?
Our position as the opposition Alliance is that:
1. Mr Lungu did not win the August 11th election. It was stolen through systematic rigging which has been compiled as evidence in our petition. Since we are sure that Mr Lungu did not win the election, we therefore believe he is not the legitimate President of Zambia.
2. We shall insist by using all democratic means that the petition which challenges the election of President Lungu be heard. We believe the constitution guarantees our right to be heard. We shall be heard and the true winner of the just ended election shall be known.
3. We demand for the removal of all ConCourt judges for failing the Zambian people at the most emotive hour in our Country’s history.
4. We demand for the transformation of the electoral commission by removing Judge Chulu and Mrs Isaacs who were in the forefront of rigging the last election and transform the ECZ into an independent electoral commission.
Until the demands above are addressed, we shall not rest, we shall not surrender and we shall not retreat. In view of all the constitutional and judicial abuses listed in this statement, we have today declared an official dispute with the PF and Mr Edgar Lungu’s election.
Our only caution is that this exercise shall be done in the absence of any form of violence. We are enjoying enough nationwide support to achieve these goals without violence. This crusade therefore signals the beginning of non-violent mass movement to reclaim the lost votes. In the same spirit that the opposition has declared that no violence shall be entertained, we urge the police service not to provoke peaceful democratic processions connected to this call for the Petition to be heard.
We recognize that when the rigged election results were announced, millions of Zambians were shocked, but even more shocked are those people who were at Mulungushi Counting Center where the results were manipulated in broad day light.
We are aware that a lot of opposition supporters across the nation are facing very difficult times. The Patriotic Front cadres
have gone on a rampage to brutalize ordinary citizens perceived to be opposing the illegal regime. Some of you have been thrown out of markets, some bus and taxi drivers have been chased out of their ranks, and others have been fired from their jobs on the basis of association to the cause of justice.
We call on all Zambians not to lose hope. Injustice and corruption cannot be sanitized by an illegally hurried inauguration. Like David in the Scriptures,( 1Samuel 30: 1-10 ) we have inquired of the Lord whether to pursue those who have stolen people’s rights and votes. The answer is that WE SHALL PURSUE AND WE SHALL RECOVER ALL. This is what we have decided to do today. Some of you have become distraught because the Inauguration has already taken place.
Both Biblical and Secular history attests to the fact that truth cannot be buried forever. Examples abound and we want you to draw strength from this history.
King David was about to die. He had promised his son Solomon to take over the throne after him, but the other son Adonijah took advantage of the aging father and rigged the process. He got key military commanders on his side, the Chief Justice of his day and all those who authenticate an inauguration. All the media reported that a new king had been enthroned and the national anthem was played. God raised a prophet who risked his own life and questioned David why Adonijah and not Solomon was King. The rigged process of adonijah was nullified and Solomon was pronounced the legitimate King.
So shall it be in Zambia not too many weeks from now if we faint not.
Our struggle, your struggle is not over until we subject the election of President Lungu to a legally accepted verification process, until Zambians are satisfied that all their votes have been accounted for. This is your right. In any case, the vote under dispute is your vote.
To achieve this we must:
1. Remove the ConCourt Judges and replace them.
2. Make the ECZ independent and remove Judge Chulu and Priscilla Isaacs.
3. Ensure that the petition is heard.
Ivory Coast testifies to the same principle. Austria also testifies to the same principle. Both countries were able to reverse the illegal inaugurations that took place in their countries and installed the legally elected Presidents. When we cast away fear and unite in purpose, nothing is too difficult to achieve. Like Martin Luther King Jnr sang, “We shall overcome some day……”
Nkana’s aspirations to win the 2016 FAZ Super Division title suffered a major set back when they succumbed to a 1-0 loss at the hands of visiting Green Buffaloes on Saturday.
Forward Jasper Masialeti scored the goal that helped Buffaloes condemn Nkana to their first defeat in nine matches.
Masialeti put the ball behind the net on 37 minutes after beating keeper Kelvin Malunga with a close range shot.
Nkana have themselves to blame for missing uncountable chances in both halves with striker Walter Bwalya being the main culprit.
Bwalya sent his 3rd minute shot wide in front of an empty net after keeper Davy Kaumbw.a had advanced forward
Bwalya further missed scoring opportunities in the 5th and 9th minutes before directing his 70th minute shot at Kaumbwa.
This win is a relief to Buffaloes who lost two straight games ahead of their trip to Wusakile.
Meanwhile, Nkana remain stuck in second place with 53 points from 27 games played.
George Lwandamina says Zesco United is taking positives from Saturday’s 2016 CAF Champions League semifinal elimination to build on their continental benchmarks set in 2016 for the 2017 campaign.
‘
Zesco lost 2-0 away to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday night to bow out 3-2 on aggregate.
It was the furthest a Zambian club had advanced in the CAF Champions League since the group stage was introduced in 1997.
“We gained so much experience along the way and I am sure the boys have grown and hopefully we will be able to retain the league back home so that we can compete again because we have set a mark and we have to do better than what we have done this year ” Zesco coach George Lwandamina said.
“It has been a good war, we have done so well and the bookmakers didn’t give us any chances.”
The Local Government Elections Tribunal sitting in Kaoma has set September 28, 2016 as the judgement date in a matter in which PF’s Janet Chingumbe has petitioned the election of Bindundu Mutti as Kaoma Town Council chairperson.
Local Government Elections Tribunal chairperson Vincent Siloka set the judgment date after hearing from both the petitioner and the respondent’s witnesses in a petition that lasted two days.
Before setting the judgement date, Tribunal chairperson Siloka advised the petitioner’s counsel Yalenga Nganga and respondent’s counsel Mwangala Zaloumis to present their written submissions today (Saturday) and on Sunday respectively.
Both the petitioner’s and respondent’s counsel complained to the Tribunal over the limited time allocated for the preparation of written submissions and the Tribunal agreed with them but said that they would all have to work within the prescribed timeframe.
Tribunal chairperson Siloka then proposed that they rely on evidence on record but then after a brief consultation, it was resolved that the written submissions by the petitioner and respondent’s counsel be made on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Earlier when hearing stated, the petitioner Ms Chingumbe, 52, said that she lost the August 11, 2016 elections because the polls were not free and fair as they were marred by corruption and violence.
Ms Chingumbe outlined the incidences of corruption which were allegedly perpetrated by the UPND in Mangango, Namafulo ward, Kakonge area and Mushwala ward where gifts that included chitenge materials, money and salt were distributed during the campaign period to entice voters.
On violence, the petitioner, who presented five witnesses, alleged that on August 10, 2016 in Longe ward a PF cadre Kapelu Luyako was beaten by UPND cadres in the presence of then Kaoma central constituency parliamentary candidate Gen. Sitwala Sitwala and the respondent Mr Mutti.
Under cross examination by Mrs Zaloumis, Ms Chingumbe admitted that she also distributed chitenge materials and T-shirts which she used for campaign purposes and agreed that it was not an offence to give out chitenge materials during campaigns.
And Mr Mutti, who availed 10 witnesses in his defence, said that he was surprised that he was being petitioned because as UPND they had peaceful and issue-based campaigns in all the 66 polling stations in the district.
He denied ever bribing anyone as his only task on August 10, 2016 was to buy logistics for the party’s polling agents in Kaoma Central Constituency and on the material day when he is alleged to have been engaged in corrupt practices he was in Kashokoto and Kakonge.
Mr Mutti, 38, also denied being part of the group that attacked PF cadres, adding that he never witnessed any incidences of violence other than when he and his driver where allegedly attacked by PF cadres on the same date.
In cross examination by Mr Nganga, Mr Mutti was taken to task on whether he provided logistics for Mangango constituency since he was standing as council chairperson for the entire district but the respondent insisted that he was only in charge of Kaoma Central Constituency.
Inspector General of Police Kakoma KanganjaTHE Zambia Police has described as total misinterpretation of facts, the reports circulating on social media indicating that the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kakoma Kanganja has allowed UPND members to conduct a procession from their party secretariat to the residence of their Party leader, Mr Hakainde Hichilema.
Dismissing the reports in Lusaka today, Police Deputy Spokesperson Esther Mwaata says the correct position is that the party has not been allowed to proceed with the procession based on security concerns.
She says party officials were advised to present their petition to their party leaders right at their secretariat after which they would be expected to disperse peacefully.
“We would like to advise party officials to take heed of the advice and avoid creating confrontational situations,” says Katongo.
Last week, the opposition UPND had written to the Inspector General of Police to allow party members hold a peaceful walk from the Party Secretariat to the residence of their President Hakainde Hichilema.
Party Secretary General Stephen Katuka said that the objective of the walk was to petition the UPND President and his running-mate Geoffrey Mwamba to take the presidential petition case to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Government has urged local artists to continue improving their creative works in order to attract the international market.
Deputy Secretary to Cabinet Ambassador Peter Kasanda said the move is also one measure of diversifying the country’s economy.
Ambassador Kasanda said government will against this background continue to support events and initiatives that contribute to the local creative industry for the betterment of arts and culture.
ZANIS reports that the Deputy Secretary to Cabinet said this during the celebration of the second edition of the 2016 Pamodzi Carnival in Lusaka today.
The Pamodzi Carnival which is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Arts was launched and declared as an annual event last year by President Edgar Lungu.
The Pamodzi Carnival is aimed at showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage from across all the ten provinces of Zambia.
And Ambassador Kasanda said the Pamodzi Carnival has potential to positively contribute to the country’s economy if effectively marketed.
Ambassador has however urged the Ministry of Tourism and Arts to not only aim at attracting local participation but also international involvement.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Tourism and Arts Acting Permanent Secretary Zacharia Luhanga said his Ministry is abreast in making the Pamodzi Carnival a long standing national cultural exhibition.

Mr. Lusambo also stated that government will always rely on the knowledge and wisdom from traditional leaders in governing the country in a bid to sustain the peace and tranquility that the country has enjoyed since independence.

“He who pursues righteousness and loyalty finds life…”
(Proverbs 21:21, NASB)
Pursue Loyalty
Have you ever noticed that righteousness and loyalty go together? In other words, if we’re not being loyal—to our family, friends, country, job—then we aren’t going to experience God’s best. Loyal people are honorable people. When you’re loyal, you stick with someone through thick and thin. When you’re loyal, you keep your word—even if you get a “better” offer. Loyal people are respectful of their leaders. They honor their parents and defend their family. When you’re loyal, you are a person of integrity. You build trust and security in others.
Is this an area where you can rise higher? Can you be more loyal? Are you faithful in the things you’re committed to? Don’t let the distractions of everyday life keep you from pursuing loyalty. Look for ways to be faithful to those around you. Is there something you need to set aside for the sake of a loved one? Show your love by staying loyal. As you pursue loyalty and righteousness, good things will come back to you just as this verse promises!
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the promise of life in Your Word. Show me any area where I can rise up higher in pursuing loyalty. Help me, by Your Spirit, to be more faithful and supportive to those around me. Let Your light shine through me as I pursue righteousness and loyalty today in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Zesco United have failed to qualify to the 2016 CAF Champions League finals.
They were beaten 2-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in Pretoria on Saturday evening to bow our 3-2 on aggregate.
Goals from Anthony Laffor in the 5th minute and Percy Tau, who had tormented Zesco in the first half of the first leg, scored the decisive goal in the 64th minute.
