Speaking to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Reverend Mwanza added that the announcement will also oversee the country’s Christian principles.
Rev. Mwanza further called on Zambians to ensure that the binding principles that led to the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation by late President Fredrick Chiluba are actualized through the creation of an institution that should oversee the enjoyment of the declaration.
And the EFZ Executive Director further applauded President Lungu for initiating and launching the construction of a national house of prayer as part of the efforts to promoting Christianity.
He said the new Ministry’s core concept should capture the teaching in various religious practices in order to promote a sense of unity, respect for humanity through the promotion of peace in Zambia.
Meanwhile The Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association (ZANAMACA) has also applauded President-elect Edgar Lungu for his plans to re-introduce the Ministry of religious affairs in the country.
This is contained in a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by ZANAMACA President Mupila Kameya.

Sunday’s final 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifier maybe a dead-rubber but Kenya is taking the buildup for their trip to Zambia seriously.
Kenya face Uganda in a friendly derby on Tuesday away in Kampala to prepare for the match against Zambia in Ndola on September 4.
Leading the team for both the friendly and visit to Zambia is their Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Victor Wanyama.
Also in the team is the Zesco United trio of striker Jesse Were, midfielder Anthony Agay and defender David Owino who missed the clubs’ 0-0 home draw on Sunday against Green Eagles to join the Harambee Stars for the friendly.
Zambia beat Kenya 2-1 in the first leg meeting last September in Nairobi with goals from Winston Kalengo and Collins Mbesuma who will miss the return leg due to serve a suspension after accruing two yellow cards in the qualifiers.

Ex-Chipolopolo defender Hilary Makasa believes South African coach Gordon Igesund is suitable for the vacant Zambia job.
Igesund, who coached Makasa at defunct South African club Manning Rangers in 1998, is the favourite to become the next Chipolopolo coach.
Other coaches short-listed for the post include former Ghana tactician Goran Stevanovic‚ Frenchman Sebastein Desabre and Swiss national Raoul Savoy.
“He is a very good coach. He coached me at Manning Rangers before I joined Ajax Cape Town,” Makasa said.
“He is the best man for the Chipolopolo job. He can do the job,” the Roan United coach said.
Igesund is one of the most successful coaches in South Africa after winning four league titles with four different sides‚ including unfashionable Manning Rangers and Santos.
He also lifted the league trophy with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The former winger finished runner-up in the league as well with Ajax Cape Town and Moroka Swallows‚ after which he was appointed Bafana coach in 2012 after several near-misses in the past.
As Bafana Bafana coach, Igesund guided South Africa to the quarterfinals of the 2013 Africa Cup where they lost on post-match penalties to Mali.
L-R,Ndola Plant Manager Mr Samba Katari, Lafarge Zambia CEO, Mr Emmanuel Rigaux Copperbelt Provincial Minister, Hon, Mwenya Musenge and LafargeHolcim Area Manager, East Africa and Indian Ocean, Mr. Dominique DrouetZAMBIA’S construction market is likely to record more growth in the second half of this year as investor confidence has been restored after the August 11 elections, Lafarge has predicted.
In the build-up to elections, most investors held on to their investments waiting to see the outcome of the process, thereby negatively affected the construction sector.
Lafarge Zambia chief executive officer Emmanuel Rigaux said the construction sector’s growth in the first half slowed as a result of investor uncertainty due to the elections.
“The market environment in the second half is expected to continue to be challenging both on pricing and volumes, although the end of the electoral period in Zambia may bring back some growth in the construction markets,” Mr Rigaux said in the company’s financial report for the half-year ended June 30, 2016.
In the period under review, however, the company continued to operate in a very difficult environment characterised by tight liquidity, market contraction and competitive pressures in the domestic market.
He said both the Ndola and Lusaka plants strongly reduced their cash costs compared to the first half in 2015 from almost K200 million to about K38.2 million, despite additional power costs.
Mr Rigaux, however, said the firm recorded a reduction in profit before interest and tax from K266 million in 2015 to K49 million in 2016.
He said the company continued to adjust its cost base to remain competitive and fully leveraged the group synergy initiatives in the first half.
Currently, there are three cement producers namely, Lafarge, Dangote and Zambezi Portland.
“Large contracts such as Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and Kafue Gorge Lower among other, continued focus on export as well as the roll out of our new franchise network [Kumanga] should help us mitigate the difficult market conditions in Zambia itself in the coming months,” he said.
Greyford Monde (L), Richwell Siamunene (R)
Losing PF candidate in the Itezhi-Tezhi parliamentary elections Greyford Monde has petitioned his seat in the Lusaka High Court on grounds that the opposition UPND winner Herbert Shabula employed rigging schemes in the just ended elections.
Mr Monde disclosed that he had successfully filed in his petition for the Itezhi-Tezhi seat which was scooped by Mr Shabula, adding that the UPND candidate had employed schemes that rendered the elections unfair.
He explained that most of the ruling party supporters in the constituency did not exercise their voting right because they were afraid of UPND attacks.
Mr Monde said that the elections in Itezhi-Tezhi were not fair and that he had petitioned because he was ready to expose schemes of malpractice the opposition candidate used.
“We have successfully petitioned the parliamentary elections for the Itezhi-Tezhi seat which was won by UPND candidate Herbert Shabula. We petitioned on grounds that UPND had employed schemes which led to the election being unfair.
They beat up our supporters just before and during the voting day. Our members were scared to go out and vote. They stayed away, hence we lost the election. They made sure our agents in polling stations were intimidated, and they had a loophole to rig the elections because there was no one to observe the election,” he said.
Mr Monde further disclosed that he had petitioned the election on grounds that there was undue influence on the voters by the UPND, by way of lies and misleading statements that the ruling party had stolen some votes in the last elections.
He said that the opposition UPND was spreading rumours that Mr Monde was misusing public property.
And Mr Monde also alleged that UPND candidate Shabula had instructed his cadres to beat up PF supporters and that one of the victims was still in Lusaka’s University Teaching Hospital having lost an eye.
HH, GBM ,Nevers Mumba and Miles Sampa on Campaign TrailBy Hon. Bowman C. Lusambo, MP-Kabushi
The recent desperate attempts by UPND’s senior officials to create an environment that makes the country appear ungovernable cannot pass without a comment.
Both Mr Hakainde Hichilema, Mr Geoffrey Mwamba and Dr Nevers Mumba should be made aware that Zambians can clearly see through their evil schemes and that they will not succeed.
It should be stated here that their plans will not succeed because these three people are a combination of political failures with long track records of grand failures.
The statement by Dr Mumba that the UPND shall not recognise President Edgar Lungu as a sitting Head of State is both irresponsible and cheap especially coming from a man who once served as Republican Vice President.
As much as Dr Mumba finds it difficult to appreciate the fact that Zambians again voted for President Lungu, we find such utterances completely reckless and plain unacceptable.
Further scrutiny of Dr Mumba’s statement reveals that such utterances are part of a grand scheme to make the country ungovernable. By stating that Zambia does not have a President, Dr Mumba is inciting law abiding citizens to rise up against an elected government using illegal means.
What we also know is that the path that Dr Mumba and his friends in the UPND have taken or appear to be advocating for borders heavily on treason. The truth is that Dr Mumba and everyone in the UPND is fully aware of the constitutional provisions that allows for a sitting Head of State to hand over powers to himself or herself.
So let us make it easier for the UPND leadership to understand, the nation currently has no leadership vacuum at the very top. We have a sitting Head of State who was re-elected and he is holding executive powers. President Lungu therefore deserves to be accorded the necessary respect and decorum that goes with the office he occupies.
Dr Mumba, HH and GBM have had extraordinary opportunities to serve the Zambian people and records are there to show that they abused these privileges and only catered for their own needs.
Dr Mumba was appointed Vice President and there is nothing to show for the time he served as Levy Mwanawasa number two. He was unceremoniously fired because he abused his position to serve his own selfish and inflated ego.
GBM was appointed Defence Minister in the Sata administration and the only thing he achieved during his reign was to award himself all the major contracts under the Ministry of Defence. By that act alone, GBM took away livelihoods of many Zambians who would ordinarily participate in the procurement processes at the Ministry. The only thing GBM achieved was to feed his big belly.
For Mr Hichilema, the man became a billionaire overnight after the state entrusted him with offloading some of its assets. If he was not undervaluing the assets, he was busy creating dubious companies through which he bought shares in the same companies he was asked to offload.
He ended up sitting on the Board of a chain of Hotels and later became the Chairman of the same Board of the company he was tasked to assess in preparation for privatisation.
The records of these UPND officials clearly shows they cannot be entrusted with public affairs. They are political failures who have no moral authority to question President Lungu’s record in government.
GBM failed Zambians and the people of Kasama Central. Dr Mumba failed the Zambian people with his poor decision making and Mr Hichilema deprived Zambians of assets that belonged to them all. Through that process, he singlehandedly sent hundreds of Zambians into destitution and many of them died due to depression arising from joblessness.
All things considered, the three failed politicians should stop making threats against the choice of Zambians who re-elected President Lungu into office. They are failed politicians who should seriously consider retiring from politics as their record so far does not inspire any confidence.

The Former Kalabo Secondary School Pupils’ Association (FOKASHA) Patron, Marvin Mwanamwambwa, has commended Trade Kings for its efforts in uplifting the standards of the school.
Judge Mwanamwambwa, who is also Deputy Chief Justice, says the company’s continued support towards the school is highly appreciated.
He said this when Trade Kings donated assorted cleaning materials to the Former Kalabo Secondary School pupils’ Association worth about K200 000 during a fundraising braii held in Lusaka today.
And speaking at the same function, FOKASHA Chairman, who is also Former Zambia Information Service (ZIS) Deputy Director, Mundia Nalishebo, said the braii was meant to raise funds for the school’s golden jubilee celebrations which will be held next month.
Mr Nalishebo said the association also received a report that pupils stand whilst having their meals hence the association’s plans to purchase some tables and benches for the dining hall at the learning institution.
He further said the school, which was built in 1966, is now dilapidated hence the need for stakeholders and other well-wishers to come to its rescue.
And Trade Kings Director, Bright Chunga, paid tribute to the former pupils for taking it upon themselves to improve the school which is in a dilapidated state.
Dr Chunga pledged to supportassociation’s efforts which are aimed at uplifting the face of the learning institution.
The fundraising braii was attended by many former Kalabo Secondary School pupils who are now high ranking officials in the country who include Judge Mwanamwambwa, Former ZIS deputy Director Mundia Nalishebo, Col Sindwa Nyambe (retired ZAF Officer) and Clive Kawana, Head of Academics at Lusaka Vocational Training Centre among others.
GREEN Party Presidential Candidate Peter Sinkamba
High Court Judge Justice Mercy Makubalo has dismissed the application brought by the Attorney General to set aside for irregularity the petition filed by the Green Party President Peter Sinkamba in Kitwe High Court.
In June, Mr Sinkamba filed a petition in Kitwe High Court seeking a Court Order to declare as unconstitutional Government’s failure, refusal and neglect, to pay him US$323,560.00, at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of the Attorney General.
Mr Sinkamba argued that failure by Government to pay him has unduly inflicted mental torture, including degrading and like treatment, contrary to Article 15 of the Constitution.
He further argued that failure, refusal and neglect by Government to pay what it owes him, has unduly stifled his self-reliance initiatives, investment plans, as well as his employment and wealth creation efforts, contrary to Article 10(1) of the Constitution.
Furthermore, he argued that failure, refusal and neglect by Government to pay what it owes him, has unduly spoilt his economic empowerment opportunities, and regressed his capability to contribute to sustainable economic growth, contrary to Article 10(2) of the Constitution.
In delivering the ruling on the State’s application, Justice Makubalo stated: “It must be pointed out that the Constitution of Zambia is the Supreme law of the land which delegates its authority to various statutes of Zambia and those statutes by the delegated authority regulates the operations of the bodies or boards and/or those who would be called to abide by it.
“Having looked at Order VI rule 1 of the Chapter 27, I am of the view that the cited Articles in this action, which are purportedly to have been infringed, could only be brought by way of a petition. As to their being infringed could only be tried on the merits at trial.
“I am of the view that the action has been properly brought before the Court and I dismiss the Respondent’s application. I order that costs be in the cause.”
The payment is in respect of work Mr Sinkamba did as a Consultant to Government to establish and operationalize the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) for the Ministry of Mines in which more than US$20 million has so far been deposited by mining companies.
Mr Sinkamba wants the Court to order Government to pay his fees forthwith, with interest at the ruling Bank rate.
He also wants the Court to award him damages and costs and any such other relief that the Court may deem fit.
He is represented by Clement Tafeni of Messrs Suba, Tafeni & Associates. The Attorney General is represented by Assistant Senior State Advocates Ms Kalimamukwento and Mrs Mundia.
Speaking during order of service for the reception service Reverend Bishop Sydney Sichilima, Synod Bishop held at UCZ St Andrew’s Congregation Lusaka, President Lungu announced that there was need for a ministry to oversee the values of Christianity being propagated in the Republic especially that Zambia is a Christian Nation.
“Mr Chanda (Amos Chanda) when we are done with everything we need to look into this, I do not know what we shall call it whether it is Ministry of Religion but once all this is done it is something we seriously need to look into,” President Lungu announced to the jubilant congregants.
He also asked for more Christians with Christian faith to take up leadership roles in politics.
“Every citizen should seek the presence of God before we look to politics, if you have Christ in your heart you will not set ablaze your friend’s house,” President Lungu said. Only those fed with the demon can do such acts.”
And President Lungu says politicians are to blame for the tribalism divisions that have emerged in the country.
The Head of State noted the tribalism and violence was being caused by politicians.
He asked for the church’s intervention to help end the violence noting that there was need for more Christians to participate in politics.
Meanwhile the United Church of Zambia has congratulated President Lungu on his re-election as Republican President.
Speaking on behalf of the Church in welcoming the Head of State Rev Dr. Peggy Mulambya Kabonde said leaders are chosen by God and move with the favour of God and anyone who touches his annoyed would be playing with fire.
Reverand Kabonde said the Church will not allow the alien behaviour of violence and tribalism to rock the land especially that the country had a peaceful democratic election.
