Edith Nawakwi adds her voice to the condemnation of xenophobic attacks

FDD leader Edith Nawakwi has added her voice to the condemnation of xenophobic attacks perpetrated on Rwandan Nationals in Lusaka.

Speaking in an interview Ms Nawakwi said the looting and damaging of property is senseless and serious criminal act that deserves punishment.

She said the acts do not depict the true spirit of the people of Zambia as Zambians are naturally generous and hospitable people who do not want a bunch of misguided and unruly people to dent their reputation.

“We condemn the Xenophobic attacks perpetrated against the Rwandan nationals. The looting and damaging of property is senseless and a serious criminal act that deserves punishment. These riots and violent acts do not depict the true spirit of who we are as a people: Zambians are naturally generous and hospitable people and we do not want a bunch of misguided and unruly people to dirten our good national image out of their riotous conduct.

“We urge the police to work closely with local community leaders to restrain thugs who are taking advantage of ritual murders to loot, steal and damage innocent people’s property. These xenophobic attacks if not curtailed will damage our country’s international reputation and scare investors from investing in Zambia,” she said.

She called on the Police and other law enforcement agencies to quickly bring to book the ritual killers saying depression and poverty have contributed to the unprecedented events of the last 24 hours.

“The police and all other law enforcement agencies should note that our people’s anxiety over these suspected ritual killing is running out of hand. Therefore, there is need for our men and women in uniform to up their game and ensure that these killers are captured and justice is meted on them. In a country of hungry people, anger is always at its pick and if nothing is done, then what seems to be sporadic attacks and skirmishes can soon degenerate into full blown anarchy. People are hungry and angry. They are depressed and are dying under the yoke of poverty and destitution and therefore tempers are really high. This is a very sensitive matter that poses a serious national security threat.

“We want to plead with all well meaning citizens to be vigil and refuse to be used in attacking others. Let us guard this peace very jealously. We only have one Zambia. Let us all co-operative with the police and help them maintain law and order,” she said.

And SACCORD has called on Zambians not to vent their frustrations on the lack of progress in arresting ritual killer on innocent individuals regardless of their nationality.

Commenting the spat of xenophobic attacks which were experienced in Lusaka yesterday, SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Cheembe said it is understandable that people are frustrated with the lack of progress regarding the ritual killings that has hit the capital city but that attacking innocent people will not resolve the problem.

Mr Cheembe called for restraint on the part of the public saying instead of causing more problems for the law enforcers the public should be working hand in hand so as to helping them find and arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crimes.

He said the public should ensure that their communities are safe and that it will not happen by destroying and vandalising both private and public property.

He said destroying private and public property will not stop the ritual killings but has the potential of escalating the crime challenges in Compounds adding that destroying property will only end up destroying public good such as Police Stations which are supposed to help in deterring would be offenders.

He further added that Zambians should not look at the whole issue as that of being Zambian against foreigner as the country will only end up losing its well deserved name of being a peace loving country in the region.

He said the riots have the potential of earning the country the undeserved name of being one of the countries practicing xenophobia something he said would put a dent on the country’s international standing.

GBM urges President Lungu to discuss development issues with Northern chiefs

The UPND has called on the Republican President Edgar Lungu to take advantage of the meetings he will have with traditional leaders from the Northern Province to discuss development issues in the Province.

UPND Vice President Administration Geoffrey Mwamba said having visited the region in the recent past the President has seen the desperate situation in the region.

He said among other issues that the President must touch on is the high poverty levels prevailing in the areas.

“Their Royal Highnesses he has invited are custodians of our culture and also responsible of the welfare of the people within their chiefdoms. It is against this background that we hope President Edgar Lungu will be truthful, faithful and objective as he engages the traditional leaders.

The President has in the recent past made numerous visits to the Northern Province and he has seen for himself the desperate situation there. Poverty levels in the province are unprecedented. The agriculture sector in the provinces has been grossly mismanaged. The cost of living is too high for most people to afford,” he said.

He added “It is unfortunate that President Lungu earlier announced that people in Kasama are buying mealie meal at K 45 when in actual fact there is a shortage of mealie meal and when its there the 25kg bag sells for more than K100. Unemployment among our youth is very high and yet the province has potential to be the agriculture and tourism hub of the country.

We sincerely hope the meeting at State House between President Lungu and their Royal Highnesses will focus on how to improve the livelihood of the people on Northern Province and the country in general. Hopefully the president will extend his invitation to Chiefs from other regions as well. The Chiefs are parents and we all benefit from their wise counsel and more so as the country prepares for a general election.”

Mr Mwamba said this in a statement issued to the media.

Police pick up 11 suspects linked to ritual murders as Xenophobic attacks intensify
Eleven suspects have been detained by Police in connection with ritual murders that have rocked Lusaka city.

About six people have been killed and their bodies dumped in various locations in Lusaka with missing body parts in what many believe are ritual killers.

And the riots that erupted yesterday targeted at Rwandese owned businesses have intensified with many more shops in other compounds being looted.

Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila who toured some of the compounds affected this morning told Journalists that police are currently holding eleven suspects in connection with the spate of ritual murders.

Mr Mwila could however not confirm where some of the suspects are foreign nationals.
“What is important is that these are suspects, whether Zambians or foreigners and they are helping with investigations,” Mr Mwila said.

He also disclosed that about 254 residents are also in police custody for allegedly participating in riotous behaviour.

Mr Mwila said the suspects were picked up from Kanyama, Chawama, George and Zingalume townships.

“As government, we have continued appealing to our people to remain calm and allow the police to investigate these murders thoroughly, we don’t want our people to take the law into their own hands,” he said.

And more compounds in Lusaka this morning joined the Xenophobic attacks on Rwandese owned shops.

Residents of Bauleni, 10 Miles and Chainda started rioting early in the morning and looted shops belonging to Rwanda nationals resident in Zambia accusing them of being behind the ritual murders.

Some of the rioting residents interviewed vowed to continue with their riots until the Rwandese are flushed out of Zambia.

They also claimed that Rwandese nationals should leave the country because they have apparently taken over all the business opportunities in their areas.

The residents also blamed Government for allowing the Rwandese to open shops at every corner in most of the compounds depriving Zambians of the needed business opportunities.

Wanderers moves on after Chabinga’s departure

FAZ Super Division side Mufulira Wanderers say they are moving on following the decision by head coach Manfred Chabinga to desert the club at the weekend.

Chabinga on Sunday told journalists that he had left Mighty despite not officially resigning.

He left the Mighty camp hours before Sunday’s home match against Lusaka Tigers which finished goalless at Shinde Stadium citing interference in his duties.

But Wanderers secretary Samuel Kalunga said the club respects Chabinga’s decision to leave the legendary.

“Manfred Chabinga has disappeared but he has not pushed in his resignation. He has resigned in the media but we are yet to get it from him,” Kalunga said.

“Since he has told the media we are definitely moving on. It is his choice so we respect it,” he said.

Kalunga refuted Chabinga’s allegations suggesting that officials were meddling in his duties.

“There is no one who has been interfering in his duties. Whatever he means by interference we don’t we understand it,” he added.

Wanderers are seventh on the table with 7 points from 6 matches played.

In The Kitchen With Kanta: Red Velvet Cupcakes

red velvet cupcakes

The other day I started to have cake withdrawals so I decided to treat myself to some red velvet cupcakes; they are pretty simple to make and taste amazing.  In my experience I would say that red velvet is preferred by adults more than children.  However, I am sure that once you whip up a batch of these cupcakes, even the kids won’t be able to resist; but don’t take my word for it, try them.

Cooking and Preparation: 40 minutes

Makes a batch of 24

Ingredients
For the cupcakes

  • 300g all-purpose flour
  • 340g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 350ml vegetable oil
  • 235ml buttermilk, room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons red food colouring
  • 1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Icing

  • 450g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 908g sifted confectioners’ sugar (icing sugar)
  • Chopped pecans and fresh raspberries or strawberries, for garnish (optional)

Method

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C. Line 2 x (12-cup) cupcake tins with cupcake papers.

In a medium mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. In a large bowl gently beat together the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food colouring, vinegar, and vanilla with a handheld electric mixer. Now add the sifted flour and dry ingredients to the oil and wet ingredients’ mix well until smooth and thoroughly combined.

red velvet cupcakes 2

Divide the cake batter evenly among the cupcake tins.  Fill each case about 2/3 with cake mixture. Bake in oven for about 20 to 22 minutes. Test the cupcakes by inserting a toothpick through them – if it comes up clean then they are done.  Remove them from the oven and cool completely before frosting.

For the Cream Cheese icing:   In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter and vanilla together until smooth.  Add the sugar and on low speed, beat until incorporated. Increase the speed to high and mix until very light and fluffy.  Use a piping bag or knife to add the icing to the cupcakes.

Serving

Enjoy your cupcakes in any way that you want.  A hot cup of tea usually goes down well.

EIU predictions are flawed-An analysis

41
Amos Chanda
Amos Chanda

By Amos Chanda

The EIU has never said will win but PF has won twice.

In 2006 they predicted a PF win but PF lost!

In 2008 they also predicted UPND would win but MMD won and PF was second.

In 2011 they predicted a win for RB who they praised as a moderate western trained economist who had shown remarkable leadership during a difficult time of economic recession… RB lost and PF won (https://www.lusakatimes.com/2010/03/30/economist-intelligence-unit-report-zambia-predicts-rbs-reelection-2011/).

In 2015 they predicted an easy opposition victory over the divided PF and that praised the “impartiality” of the acting president in handling the campaigns. The opposition lost and PF won.

At the centre of the EIU analysis is the notion that a western leaning capitalist-thinking candidate must win and for them Sata and EL are less western thinking than RB AND HH respectively.

For them the judgement of a white man Scott and ex banker Miles is better than the judgement say of Samuel Mukupa, Davies Chama, Dora Siliya, Vincent Mwale etc… Zambians voters do not think like EIU analysts?

How would a Scott and or Sampa endorsement of 2016 differ from their endorsement of 2015 though not openly done?

Scott told British newspapers he expected the opposition to win…

How will UPND win elections when it is still clear that they will still fail to get a single parliament seat in the whole of Muchinga North Luapula and Eastern provinces?

How would they win when they have lost by elections in western province in the last one year 11 to 5 for local elections and 1 to zero for parliament that is Mulobezi?

They have lost all by elections in the east north and Luapula that have taken place since 2015? Where would this sudden victory come from?

The EIU seem oblivious to the electoral demographics that starkly suggests that the people of the north are as just as unlikely to vote UPND as those from the are against the PF.

Sadly, for UPND the PF has unassailable support on six out of 10 provinces: East North Muchinga Luapula CB and Lusaka! Even assuming as expected that some support would reduce in some urban areas, how would that drop say from the over 70 percent to below 50?

But all that aside what is most unreliable about the EIU predictions is that they have never predicted a PF victory! And as you read further the report says “whichever party wins” there will be no major policy change… “whichever” is an operative word here not UPND!

The report alleges PF is “deeply divided” between who and who? Sampa and Scott have always been against EL and have done very little to help.

Ever since the so called defections started one can only point to Mwaliteta the rest are MMD MPs who formally joined the UPND.

At the 2015 polls all those campaigned for HH… which divisions is the EIU talking about?

HH takes to facebook to call for calm on Lusaka Riots

Some of the looted shops
Some of the looted shops

UPND President Hakainde Hichilema took to facebook to call for calm as the country experienced a spate of xenophobic attacks on Monday which started from Zingalume and George Compound and later spread to other parts of Lusaka.

Mr Hichilema appealed to Zambians to remember that they were God’s children who should love one another adding that violence was never an answer to anything.

He said even with the current difficulties the answer can not be found in violence and destruction of property.

He also called on law enforcement agencies to proactively deal with the issues before they escalated to unmanageable levels.

Below is a posting from his page.

Our prayer this evening is for calm to return to our compounds and our homes quickly.

We pray that no one has been hurt during the riots and unrest that have spread in some parts of our capital city including this evening, as some reports are suggesting.

Our earnest appeal to every Zambian at this time is to remember that as God’s children we must always love and care for one another, and that violence is never an answer to the troubles we face. It can only bring more hurt and God Himself will sit in judgement of those who transgress.

As a society we need to broadly address poverty and inequality properly as one way of preventing these evil happenings.

But the answer can only lie in peace and unity and a cooperative spirit to change our country.

Even with current difficulties in our communities, the answer does not lie in the destruction of properties through rioting and maiming each other.

We also call on law enforcement agencies to proactively deal with these issues before they escalate to such levels.

We also encourage those who can to co-operative with law enforcement officials in returning peace and order to our streets and compounds.

Dr Nevers Mumba is on a wrong path- Nakacinda

5

Raphael Nakacinda
Raphael Nakacinda

Suspended MMD National Spokesperson Raphael Nakacinda says party President Nevers Mumba is on the wrong path as he has allowed people who are serving their selfish motives to advice him on issues related to the operations of the party.

And Mr Nakacinda says he feels insulted by the people insinuating that he has been bought by the Mutati lead faction because he is above being bought and that he remains a friend to Dr Mumba even though they have differed on the issue regarding the holding of the convention.

Speaking when he featured on Muvi TV’s the Assignment program, Mr Nakacinda said Dr Mumba had chosen a wrong path by choosing to listen to people who did not care about him and the party.

He explained that the party started preparing for the convention as far back as April 2015 when the Party NEC put up modalities which would culminate to convention but that they were surprised when all that changed after the NEC meeting held in January.

He said some people the President has chosen to listen to do not have the interests of the party at heart and that they are destroying both the party and the reputation of Dr Mumba in his personal capacity.

Asked if he had betrayed Dr Mumba, Mr Nakacinda said Dr Mumba had betrayed himself by not following the correct advise over matters related to the running of MMD which was given to him on several platforms.

And Mr Nakacinda said he takes great exception to accusations that he had been bought to work against party President Nevers Mumba.

He said he was one of the people who helped convince Dr Mumba to return from Canada and stand for Party Presidency but that he will not stand by and see the party constitution being abrogated as that would be misleading to Dr Mumba and his loyalty misplaced.

He said unlike others his journey with Dr Mumba is not from a year or two ago but that of 18 years hence he wouldn’t betray him for a penny nor will he depart from doing the correct thing due to misplaced loyalty.

On the purported injunction restraining Felix Mutati and 11 others from carrying out mobilization meetings across the country, Mr Nakacinda expressed disappointment that Dr Mumba would allow his advisers to sink so low as to lie to him that there was an injunction when in fact not.

He said Dr Mumba actually lied to the nation that Mr Mutati and others were abrogating the Republican Constitution because the court denied them the injunction adding that the time Dr Mumba was issuing the statement on the 13th of April they did not even know the out come of their submission as the document in which the injunction was denied was served on the 14th.

He added that whoever is advising President Mumba should stop telling him lies as doing so will only do them more harm as lies have short legs.

On the issue of the convention, Mr Nakacinda said instead of demonizing the people calling for a convention Dr Mumba should have prepared himself for the event because he knew that the day would come.

He said the excuse he is trying put across that his tenure ends in 2017 did not hold waters because he was just finishing up a term which started in 2011 when Rupiah Banda was elected as Party President.

He said it should be born in Dr Mumba’s head that he took over as President through an extra ordinary convention after extra ordinary circumstances in the party when former President resigned from active politics and that the constitution clearly states that the party shell have a convention every five years.

On whether the party will participate in the forth coming elections, Mr Nakacinda said the party will only participate in the elections after sorting out its internal problems and the holding of a convention.

He said with the current challenges within the party, the MMD would only be embarrassed if they went ahead and participated without putting their house in order.

VJ’s unverified media statements should not jeopardise Zambia , Uganda relations-Kalaba

23

vj
THE Government is disappointed that veteran politician and seasoned diplomat Vernon Mwaanga is reported to have made a Press statement on elections in which he concluded that Uganda’s February election was flawed.

Dr Mwaanga is reported in The Post newspaper of April 16 this year that people should restrain the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) from using the same printing company in Dubai that was used in the February election in Uganda because the ballot papers in the Ugandan election were pre-marked to favour President Yoweri Museveni.

The ministry of Foreign Affairs has since urged Dr Mwaanga and all political players to avoid mentioning other countries and their political processes when commenting on domestic political issues.

Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba said yesterday at a Press briefing that it was regrettable and sad that Dr Mwaanga named Uganda, a sovereign State, in a matter of domestic politics.

Mr Kalaba said the matter of the Ugandan election was still in domestic courts in that country and had not been verified or concluded.

“It is regrettable and sad that a veteran diplomat that we should be looking up to is the one to say something that degrades everything he has achieved,” he said.

Mr Kalaba said Zambia and Uganda enjoyed good bilateral relations which should not be jeopardised by unverified media statements.

He said it was not in conformity with good international practice to name other countries and bring into dispute those countries’ political processes.

Lusaka City Council to light up Lusaka

New street lighting on major roads in Lusaka city centre has improved the outlook of the central business district following acquisition and installation of the lights. Above is part of Freedom Way where motorists and pedestrians are now able to do their activities without fear of being mugged
Lusaka city centre
THE Lusaka City Council (LCC) has embarked on a routine road maintenance and street lighting installation project throughout Lusaka, under performance contracts and the L400.

Lusaka Town Clerk Alex Mwansa said the local authority had engaged Sunspot Insurance Brokers to help replace the vandalised streetlight poles through insurance claims of vehicles that damaged the poles.

Mr Mwansa also urged members of the public to report to the police whenever they saw a vehicle hit into any of the poles by simply giving the vehicle registration number.

He said in a statement issued yesterday by LCC assistant public relations manager, Brenda Katongola that the council had noted with concern that most streetlights were being knocked down by careless motorists, especially during weekends.

He said that the road maintenance and street lighting installation project was aimed at improving the status of roads in the city to make them better and safer for all road users.
Mr Mwansa said AVIC International had been awarded a contract by the Government to construct roads and install the streetlights in the capital city, which was being supervised by LCC and the Road Development Agency (RDA).

He said streetlight installations would be carried out on major roads in the city, with the Great East, Chilimbulu and Burma roads receiving a facelift and later on Independence Avenue.

“Some roads such as Addis Ababa Drive, Church and Great East roads have already started receiving a facelift to enhance the safety of our road users. This is expected to continue on all the roads in the central business district (CBD), including the pedestrian or zebra crossings,” Mr Mwansa said.

He said that AVIC in partnership with LCC and RDA was expected to light up 150-kilometre stretch of the 408 kilometres of roads at an estimated cost of US$23,550,000.

Mr Mwansa said in trying to stave off the continued power outage by Zesco, the council and RDA had embarked on putting up streetlight poles, which were solar-powered on 40km of the 150km in an effort to improve lighting and security in the city even with the current power deficit.

He said the LCC had since installed conventional streetlights along Manchinchi, Dr Aggrey and Blue Boar roads through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and internal support, and that the local authority was working on modalities to protect infrastructure which was being constructed.

Mr Mwansa said that the local authority through funding from the National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) was currently carrying out road markings on major roads and pothole patching on selected roads in the capital city.

Zambia Police has deployed enough officers to end the Riots-Davies Mwila

46
DAVIES MWILA
DAVIES MWILA

Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila says the Zambia Police has deployed enough Police officers to end the violence attacks that saw shops belonging to foreign nationals looted and one Rwandan National burnt to death.

In a ministerial statement issued on national television, Mr Mwila said said criminal elements took advantage of the pain and grief the country felt over suspected ritual killings that has rocked the capital city since March 16, 2016 and sparked off attacks on shops owned by foreigners and Zambians operating in what he said high density residential areas.

He said the attacks were sparked of by another false allegation that a ritual killer of foreign origin had been released from police custody.

He explained that the said foreign national was arrested on the night of 17th of April for the crime of conduct likely to cause breach of peace and was released after he paid admission of guilt fine

He said contrary to the rumours, the Police are working round the clock to ensure that they bring the perpetrators to book adding that a number of suspects are helping the Police with investigations.

He also commended some residents in George Compound who helped the Police to prevent the burning of the Police station for the second time in less than a month.

Below is the statement as read out by the Minister.

Ministerial Statement on the suspected ritual killings and the looting of shops in the high density residential areas of Lusaka

Today has been a very sad day for our country. It is a day on which some criminal elements in Lusaka with criminal intent took advantage of the pain and grief we have all felt over the suspected ritual killings that have rocked the city of Lusaka since march 16, 2016.

These criminal elements sparked off attacks on shops owned by foreigners and Zambian nationals operating in the high density residential areas in the west and north of the city of Lusaka.

The worst affected areas in the west being George, Lilanda, Chunga, Zingalume and part of Matero, while Chaisa, Kabanana, Mandevu and Chipata compound were the worst affected in the north.

Ladies and gentlemen, contrary to the false rumours being spread by criminal elements, the police have been working round the clock to bring the killings to an end and the perpetrators to book. So far a number of suspects are helping the police with the investigations.

The attacks on the shops in the high density residential areas were sparked off by yet another false allegation that the police had released a “suspected foreign ritual killer.”

The foreign national in question, however, had been arrested on the night of 17th april for the offence of conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.  He was accordingly released upon paying the admission of guilt fine.

The police are therefore committed to containing the crime wave and shall no doubt bring the suspected ritual killers to book.

The anti-social and criminal conduct seen in the high density areas north and west of the city of Lusaka must come to an immediate end. The Zambia police service has deployed adequate manpower and has so far apprehended suspects in connection with the looting. They have also recovered some of the looted properties. The police shall continue with the patrols until the situation returns to normal.

In the midst of these criminal activities, some patriotic residents of George compound have been heroic. They have worked and supported the police by taking turns to protect their police post from being destroyed by the criminal elements for the second time in a space of two weeks. This is how all peace loving Zambians ought to behave.

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to assure the business community and members of the general public that no expense shall be spared to protect lives and property. The Zambia police service has deployed adequate manpower to contain the situation and bring the perpetrators of these criminal activities to book.

We must all remain calm, support the police and isolate all the those involved in these criminal activities. We must continue to uphold the law and avoid taking the law into our own hands.

Violent attacks targeted at foreign owned shops in Zingalume and George Compounds in Lusaka which broke out on Monday morning have spread to Garden and Mandevu areas.

The riots started in Zingalume and George compound before engulfing parts of Lilanda but were quelled by police officers in riot gear.

The protestors later stormed Kasungula road near Mandevu compound and started looting shops belonging to Rwandese nationals.

They also entered Katima mulilo road near Garden compound accusing Rwandese nationals of being the recent killings in the area.

The riots sporadically spread to Garden compound as many Rwandese nationals rushed to close their businesses and feared for their lives.

The residents threw stones and other objects and chanted anti Government slogans and threatened to take their protests to State House.

The rioters mostly got away with fridges, grocery items and beer from the shops they looted.

They claimed that President Edgar Lungu has failed to act on the spate of killings in their area which has seen seven people killed in what is suspected to be ritual murders.

The angry residents said in interviews claimed that President Lungu is a weak President saying late President Michael Sata could not have allowed the situation to degenerate to the current levels.

They said they are living in fear and now want Government to flush out the Rwandese from Zambia.

Other could the Rwandese of taking over all business opportunities and blamed Government for allowing Rwandese to freely open shops at every corner in the area.

Police Inspector General Kakoma Kanganja told Reporters late afternoon that he had deployed over 200 paramilitary officers and undisclosed number of officers from the C-5 special squad to control the situation.

By press time, most areas of Zingalume, George, Matero, Garden and Mandevu including Chipata compound was tense but the riots had been subdued.

Fit-again Katongo ready for GBFC return

Christopher Katongo Buffaloes Captain in Action
Christopher Katongo Buffaloes Captain in Action
Green Buffaloes captain Christopher Katongo has announced that he is now ready to play after missing the club’s last league match due to a short illness.

Katongo was not available when Buffaloes lost 1-0 to Nchanga Rangers on April 9 in Chingola due to a stomach-ache.

The Chipolopolo striker said he resumed training last week and he is now available for selection.

“It was not an injury just but a stomach-ache and I am back in training,” Katongo said.

“I am now available for selection and ready to play.”

Katongo is an influential player at the Army outfit.

Meanwhile, Katongo says it is too early to rate Buffaloes’ performance so far in the season.

Buffaloes, who have two games in hand, are 11th on the table with 5 points from 4 matches.

“It is too early to talk about how we have performed. We have just played few games and we have two un-played matches,” Katongo said.

Buffaloes are currently preparing to face Lusaka Dynamos in their next FAZ Super Division match on April 23.
