1. LT where is the story? Anyway, in Cameroon they are making charcoal out of maize rubbish. We need to ban the cutting of trees for charcoal

2. SO, WHAT IS THE GOVERNMENT DOING IN ORDER TO PROMOTE THESE WOMEN TO A COMMERCIAL LEVEL OF THEIR INGENIOUS METHOD OF PRODUCING CHARCOAL? ONE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT IS ACTUALLY THE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AT MOUNT MAKULU WHO SHOULD HAVE COME UP WITH THIS SOLUTION. BUT, HEY! OUR SCIENTISTS ARE ALWAYS IMMERSED IN UN PRACTICAL AND WORKABLE THEORIES. SO, WHO ARE INGENIOUS? OUR SCIENTISTS OR OUR WOMEN WITH OR WITHOUT EDUCATION. I WOULD SAY OUR WOMEN. CUTTING DOWN TREES FOR CHARCOAL IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. BUT ONE WONDERS WHY OUR SCIENTISTS HAVE NEVER COME UP WITH ANY SOLUTION(S). HATS OFF TO THESE WOMEN. THEY DESERVE A LOAN TO ACQUIRE PROPER MIXING AND MOLDING MACHINE AND SET UP IN ONE OF THE MFEZs. THIS HAS ALSO GIVEN AN INCENTIVE TO CASSAVA AND MAIZE FARMERS. THESE WOMEN ARE REAL THINKERS.

4. How can a black man be called Davies? Why don’t white people call themselves Chama or Lungu or Maimbo or Siliya? They cannot. Because whites are of the opinion anything African is primitive. 6. Thank you LT for finally positing the video. So the guys in Kasempa are using same material like what the people in Cameroon are using. This is what GRZ should encourage in all provinces and them make it illegal to cut trees for charcoal.

7. I pray that these women are supported and enabled. Knowing Zambia there will be a few trots to State House and before you know it some funny investor will be given huge incentive to open a factory to do exactly that. This is why we do not have home grown billionaires as we should. Remember what they did to the palm oil producers in Luapula…

10. This is very good initiative, you can also use leaves to make the same charcoal. In the video that Save Environment and People Agency (SEPA) the video entitled Environmental Challenges in North Western, we talked about this initiative, Province If the government can empower these women with good machines. We also need to train more people so that we preserve our trees. North Western Province is the only Province which still have forest in Zambia, but at the rate we are going i am afraid we will soon finish the all the trees.
