  1. I didn’t watch this crap. I don’t watch f0Ols ine. I was watching Wimbledon while talking to Larry mweetwa who I will be visiting in England next week.

    • This why Saviour Chishimba was breathing fire. Edgar is confused mwee.
Who wrote his speech, looks ilike himself don’t believe in his government.

    • THIS WAS ONE OF THE VERY FEWBEST PRESS CONFERENCES I HAVE EVER WATCHED AND LISTENED TO. CONGRATULATIONS MR PRESIDENT FOR BEING FACTUAL AND TO THE POINT. I LOVED THE FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE, TOO.

    • MY CONCLUSION AFTER LISTENING TO THE PRESS CONFERENCE IS THAT, ZAMBIA HAS SOME OF THE BEST AND KNOWLEDGEABLE PRESIDENTS IN THE WORLD. ECL IS A VERY HUNBLE BUT KNOWLEDGEABLE GUY. HE IS AN ELOQUENT SPEAKER, TOO. I AM LOVING ECL. HE IS ONE OF US. HE IS GREAT.

    • One thing I have noticed in this press conference is the lack of basic knowledge of our Constitution by Zambian media practitioners (journalists). Most of them kept on conflating the two Articles: Article 30 (DECLARATION OF PUBLIC/STATE EMERGENCY) and; Article 31 (DECLARATION RELATING TO THREATENED EMERGENCY.) The two are totally separate and different.

Journalists will do well to familiarize themselves with such an important Document (CONSTITUTION) if they wish to start asking our elected officials intelligent and probing questions. They don’t have to be experts at it, but at least have some idea of what the Constitution says. Maybe then we might start having some well written and researched News Broadcasts and NEWSPAPER articles. Zambians hunger for depth and seriousness from our…

… scribes than what they have been getting so far—SPECULATIONS and SHALLOW HALF BAKED MEDIOCRE COVERAGE. All one has to do is look at the HEADLINES in certain Newspapers and Zambian blogs and see how they have MIS-CHARACTERIZED what the President said and proclaimed for you to understand what I am talking about.

To the Uninformed and those without any Curiosity at all:

ARTICLE 30: DECLARATION OF PUBLIC EMERGENCY
      1. The President may, in consultation with Cabinet, at any time, by Proclamation
published in the Gazette declare that a State of public emergency exists.

(Seven other subsection to this follow…you can read them by yourself)

ARTICLE 31: DECLARATION RELATING TO THREATENED EMERGENCY

    • continue:

.. the Gazette declare that a situation exists which, if it is allowed to continue may lead to a
      state of public emergency.

(Seven other subsection to this follow…you can find and read them yourself)

Now, if you have members of the Media keep referring to what the President invoked as a “DECLARATION OF PUBLIC EMERGENCY,” how then do one expect the general public and Social Media nincompoops and trolls to know the difference? I however commend the President for taking his time to explain exactly what he did and the expectations thereof. He has done well to remove the unnecessary confusion and anxieties caused mostly by our “Media” (Print, Television and Cyber) NOT taking their RESPONSIBILITIES (Truth Telling without SPIN) seriously.

    • Zambian journalists are hopeless. We need first class UNib=versity graduates to do this job. None of them seems to see beyond the letter to ask proper questions, or did State House just invite the dunderheads?

  2. The first time lungu has been forced into a press conference.. ….even then it is loaded with pre planned questions by bootlickrrs.. ..

    • @2 THEN IN THAT CASE THOSE PLANNED QUESTION WERE VERY CONSTRUCTIVE, IF AT ALL THEY WERE ACCORDING TO YOU.

  3. Only UPND donkeys foolish fools like HH can never get sense from this, simply because they have nothing to offer to the Zambian people shame

  4. You should just resign…article 31 really …,
The IG….should be on the top of the list…what a useless IG it’s like he was a security guard before getting promoted to the IG gig….he knows nothing if anything he is making Lungu look bad…it’s not a good look…sir

  5. I would rather listen to the dog i named Edgar lungu bark than listen to this rat lungu speak.

    • Well if one can listen to a dog (and understand) rather than listen to a human being then they must also be a ………

    • Well NEZ there you go. You just said you talk to dogs, I take it from your own words that you are a dog PERIOD.

  6. God says respect your leaders, not only good ones, but even bad ones, let us be true Christians, the word of God is the same throughout, we can avoid a lot of quarrels and differences, lastly, is it not possible to have an opposition leader who is a dictator?

  7. Poorly hastily organised …why should journalists march to a podium and be intimidated Amos to ask a single question; why not simply pass them a microphone. Where is the international media even KK used to invite them!!
