KAPA187: How did you get the name supastar deejay?
SupaStar Deejay: Â I started with the name crazi Hussein, then it changed to insane-Hussein, i kinda suffered abit of an identity crisis till one of my friends started calling me Supasta deejay,
I thought it was cool, simple and catchy. I liked it and it stuck. Rach you’re a fool for that one, lol.
KAPA187: Â What made you decide to become a Dj , what or who was your inspiration.
SupaStar Deejay: Â Â Since I can’t sing or dance, djaying was the next best thing, it was a hobby in the beginning , but 2 years later it became a career. My love for music is what inspires me.
But there’s alot of deejays that i look up to, Dj’s such as Dj Cleo, Dj Waxxy, Dj fresh, Dj Tiesto, David Guetta and Vj Takt and the list goes on and on.
KAPA187: Â Out of all the tunes you have, which one ‘never fails’?
SupaStar Deejay: Â Â I have too many classics which never let me down so I will give you two:
Sean Paul – Like glue, Shabba ranks – Bedroom Bully (classics)
KAPA187: Â When Djing at a club , is your set pre planned , or do you just go with the flow.
SupaStar Deejay:  I go with the flow. Music is more of a feeling, the role of a Dj is to read the crowd and NOT to be predictable so it’s better to go with the flow.
I try by all means to be as spontaneous as I can be and also as creative, that’s why they say Dj’ing is an art.
KAPA187: Â Do u play a particular type of music , or do you mix it up.
SupaStar Deejay: Â Â I mix it up. It’s much more fun mixing different kinds of music, and because people have different music preferences everybody will be kept on their feet.
I play music that I like more or less, and I like all genres of music from hip hop to house to dance to the dancehall.
KAPA187: Â When was the first big occasion you Deejayed for, and how did it feel?
SupaStar Deejay: Â Â The road to Zain Mtv music video awards Zambia that was held at Hollywood city. It was the build up show to the main award show in Kenya in 2009.
It was an honour to be one of the two dj’s selected in Zambia to play at the event,i felt like a star! it was an exciting experience.
It was the most organised party i had ever been to, from the stage performance to the dance floor to the drinks at the bar. It was sold out and it was on MtvBase, Like how cool
was that, and the best part was all my friends were there to support like always, thanx guys.
KAPA187:Â That must have been a great experience , whats the funniest thing that ever happened at an event?
SupaStar Deejay: Â It was a Saturday night at Hollywood City, i was playing T.i’s Live Your Life and i accidentally ejected the CD midway through the song and instead of silence in the club to my surprise the crowd was singing along to the chorus, it was so awesome, talk about live accapella hey, it’s always fun to hear the crowd sing along to your music.
KAPA187: Â You currently Dj at Hollywood city night club, how did you get that opportunity.
SupaStar Deejay:   Hollywood City had just opened and at that time I was living in the same neighbourhood and i was coincidentally looking for a dj gig, I was looking to become a resident Dj anywhere. I got an audition and next thing you know, I was hired!
KAPA187:Â Guess you were at the right place at the right time ,What’s the best event you’ve played at/put on?
SupaStar Deejay: Â Â SADC battle of the Dj’s which was held in Windhoek, Namibia. It took place in September 2010, it was so great because I got to meet and dj with dj’s from all over southern Africa.
We had 30minute battle sessions and the croud was off the hook, it was a mixed crowd too, and guess what? Everybody was a winner because we all came with our own flavours from our home countries.
KAPA187: Â When all the partying is over, what do you do to relax?
SupaStar Deejay: Â Â I watch movies ; action, horror and scifi, I also like to hang out with
my friends and listen to music lol, i take my music with me everywhere i go, literaly .
KAPA187: In 5 years I will be…
SupaStar Deejay: Â Â A music producer and one of Africa’s hottest dj’s. Becoming a producer is another big step that I would love to take and it’s something that i am working on, so look out for me.
KAPA187: Â Any advice for upcoming DJ’sÂ
SupaStar Deejay: Â Dj’ing is lots of fun but it’s always great to have a backup plan as a just-in-case, you never know what tomorrow could bring and remember to always play ‘it’ safe. And remember there’s nothing better than the feeling of being appreciated for work done. It pays to work hard, so in anything you do, do it with a passion.

Gender Minister Sarah Sayifwanda talks to United Nations Development Programme Country Director Viola Morgan
Gender minister Sara Sayifwanda says the increasing number of women involved in drug trafficking is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the nation.
Ms. Sayifwanda says drug trafficking is not the only option women can resort to when there are a lot of businesses they can venture into.
Speaking in an interview with QFM, Ms. Sayifwanda challenged women in the country to emulate her steps in life and conduct good businesses that will earn them the needed respect as women.
Ms. Sayifwanda says she is not happy with the growing trend of women involvement in drug trafficking adding that the methods being used to conceal drugs are dangerous to their health.
She has advised women to utilize the women empowerment funds being provided by government instead of venturing in illegal activities just to make quick money.

Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) president Musa Mwenye has described as unfortunate that the ruling MMD has decided to sway away from important issues of national interest.
Mr. Mwenye says this is evidenced by attacks targeted at him by MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya.
He says instead of focusing on more important issues other than name calling, Ms Siliya chose to attack him.
He wonders why Ms. Siliya, during a live presentation of the assignment program on Muvi television on Sunday evening, could not tackle real issues that were brought up.
Mr. Mwenye notes that during the deliberation, Ms. Siliya should have stated whether the Zambia National Broadcasting Cooperation (ZNBC) is breaching the ZNBC Act no 154 of the laws of Zambia or not.
And Mr. Mwenye says he is not surprised with the allegations leveled against him because he is not the first LAZ president to be attacked.
In a telephone interview with QFM, Mr. Mwenye says the association will not give credence to the ongoing misguided debate based on character assassination.
Mr. Mwenye states that he is not a sympathizer of any political party noting that even if one member of LAZ was a political party sympathizer, the association acts through its fifteen elected councilors who make collective decisions.
Meanwhile, political analyst Dante Saunders says the MMD is being childish in the way it is receiving advice from the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) on the operations of the Zambia National Broadcasting Cooperation (ZNBC).
Mr. Saunders says the MMD should just accept that the ZNBC Act number 154 of the laws of Zambia is being breached instead of attacking LAZ which he said is in order to raise such issues.

GOVERNMENT says it has finalised the draft Deposit Protection Bill.
The draft Bill, which awaits Cabinet approval, will help depositors access funds in the event of a bank or financial institution going into liquidation.
It also aims at establishing a deposit protection fund to be administered by the Bank of Zambia (BoZ) and be used to pay off eligible depositors up to the maximum insured amount of their deposits.
Minister of Finance and National Planning Situmbeko Musokotwane said proposals for legislative changes have been made to the Banking and Financial Services Act and to the Bank of Zambia Act.
“These are being processed for legislation. The Deposit Protection Bill has been finalised and is awaiting Cabinet approval,” he said.
Dr Musokotwane said this in a letter of intent submitted to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The letter of intent of the government of Zambia describes the policies that Zambia intends to implement in the context of its request for financial support from the IMF.
Dr Musokotwane says implementation of the Financial Sector Contingency Plan is at an advanced stage with institutional and policy arrangements largely being in place.
He noted that Government is on track with the roll-out of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) by expenditure category with disbursements for wages, grant financed outlays and external debt service being processed through the TSA system.
He said by end June 2011, Government meant to have 60 percent of expenditures being executed through the TSA.
“The remaining 2011 structural reform regarding the Treasury Single Account is broadly on track,” he said.
The depositor fund focuses on protecting small depositors as they are considered less sophisticated when analysing the financial performance and condition of a bank or financial institution.
Last year, BoZ said it was in the process of introducing a Depositor’s Protection Act and Scheme to cushion depositors in case of bank failures.
BoZ said enacting a deposit protection act and creating a deposit scheme will not only create a safety net for depositors but enhance confidence in the banking sector.
According to BoZ data, depositors will be able to get their money within a short period of time from the fund unlike the current situation where the payment of depositors is dependent on the liquidation process ,which takes long and in some cases does not even result in depositors getting their money.
GOVERNMENT has signed a US$8.5 million (about K40 billion) contract with Anhui Foreign Economic Construction Group (AFEC) for construction of access roads at Ndola stadium.
Minister of Works and Supply Gabriel Namulambe said in an interview yesterday government signed the contract with AFEC representatives in Lusaka on Saturday.
“The contract awarded to AFEC also includes landscaping, water storm drain, parking lots and other associated works needed to complete works on the facility,” Namulambe said.
The work is scheduled to take four months but the Chinese firm has assured Government that it will finish the job in two months.
“Government is confident that the company will complete the works before the end of September…our target remains the same that the stadium be ready as stipulated in the contract.

“We want the national team to play their next Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya at the new stadium,” Namulambe said.
The Chipolopolo host Libya on October 8 in the last game of the qualifiers for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations to be co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
Namulambe said works on the access roads and other associated works have since commenced.
The government was supposed to construct the two access roads on the eastern side and on the northern side but the works were not included in the contract.
The minister also said works on the 60,000-seater Lusaka stadium scheduled to be completed in 30 months are progressing well.
Chinese firm Shanghai Construction Company who are working on the Lusaka stadium have also been awarded a contract to upgrade the dilapidated Independence Stadium.
ZAMBIA and Mozambique have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the transfer of convicted persons between the two countries.
This means that Zambians convicted in Mozambique will be allowed to serve their sentence in their home country and vise-visa.
The two countries have signed another MoU on areas of co-operation.
Minister of Home Affairs Mkhondo Lungu signed on behalf of Zambia while Mozambique’s Minister of Justice, Maria Delfina Benvinda Levy, signed on behalf of her country.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Livingstone yesterday, Mr Lungu said the two MoUs will provide the two countries with an operational platform to begin the transfer of prisoners who wish to serve their sentences in their home country, where they can easily be visited by their families and friends.
Mr Lungu said the approach is aimed at promoting family re-union, enhanced rehabilitation and prisoner’s integration into society.
“This ceremony is a sign that we are heading in the right direction, as we endeavor to redress the problems of rehabilitation, re-integration and overcrowding in our penal institutions.
“Such efforts will enable our governments to meet the international minimum standard rules on the treatment of offenders and other international treaties on the rights of inmates,” Mr Lungu said.
And Ms Benvinda Levy paid gratitude to Zambian people for helping that country to gain its independence in the 1970s.
She said Zambia played a pivotal role in the independence struggle of her country.
“We want to thank you for your continued friendship, which goes beyond the independence struggle. It is for this reason today we are signing the two MoUs,” she said.
Commissioner of Zambia Prisons Service Percy Chato said the two agreements were developed taking into consideration special interests that affect the smooth operations and collaborations of the two sister prison services of the two countries.
Mr Chato said the Zambia prisons service is looking forward to sharing strategy for ensuring that people live with a chain of possibilities.
CHIENGI member of Parliament Katele Kalumba has challenged the Patriotic Front (PF) to tell the nation how it will fight corruption when it is encouraging the principle of ‘don’t kubeba’, which is synonymous with the vice.
Dr Kalumba, who is former MMD national secretary, said in an interview from Chiengi yesterday he has studied the concept of ‘don’t kubeba’ and that its underlying political message is immoral because it encourages Zambians to be deceitful.
“‘Don’t kubeba’ is a discourse of immorality and untruthfulness. If the PF can teach people to be untruthful in principle in terms of political practices, how can they fight corruption because the principle of ‘don’t kubeba’ is the same principle as corruption?” Dr Kalumba said.
“If people don’t believe in something, they should be bold enough to state that they don’t believe in some ideologies or a particular political party, that is truthfulness. And yet our colleagues in the PF are inciting Zambians to be deceitful and immoral by accepting things knowing pretty well that they don’t intend to do the acts they are being given to do, assuming that there is corruption,” Dr Kalumba said.
He said it is unfortunate that the PF is inciting its members to hide their political affiliation while pretending to be MMD members.
Dr Kalumba advised MMD members not to feel ashamed to be identified as members of the ruling party.

He said Zambians don’t know what the PF stands for because of its ‘don’t kubeba’ policy, which is vague.
“That is why Zambians are confused about homosexuality, on one hand the PF is fraternising with gay activists in Europe, and on the other they are telling people that God would not have created Adam and Eve if he wanted them to be homosexuals,” Dr Kalumba said.
He said MMD members should be proud of themselves and their leaders.
Kabwe Warriors have moved in to try and avert their crisis with the appointment of Dick Ngwenya as head coach of the struggling provincial giant.
Ngwenya will be assisted by Happy Sichikolo who both return for second stints after being on the Warriors bench in 2002 and 2010 respectively.
The development means Ngwenya leaves the comfort of 5th placed promoted Nakambala Leopards where his assistant Weston Mumba is expected to take full charge.
Sichikolo returns to Warriors after a two-month stint at Faz Division 1 South side FC Paramilitary whom he joined in May this year.
And very brave Sichikolo said he was excited about returning back to the club where he played and coached before he was fired in the second half of last season.
“I am always a Warriors fan, I love Kabwe Warriors and I enjoyed playing football at Kabwe Warriors,” Sichikolo said.
Warriors are in the mire and third from bottom on 13 points from 15 games played with just three wins all season.
Sichikolo and Ngwenya now have 15 games to ensure their rekindled love affair with Warriors has a fairy tale ending.

Mufulira Wanderers yesterday failed to topple leaders Indeni from the top of the Faz Division 1 table after drawing away in Ndeke, Ndola on Sunday.
The two sides drew 0-0 at Indeni Sports Complex to see the situation in the top two in Division 1 North stay unchanged.
Indeni continue to enjoy a two-point lead at the top of the table on 32 points while Wanderers stay number two on 30 points.
Meanwhile in Division 1 South, City of Lusaka are the new leaders after a 3-1 home win over Paramilitary who are coached by the Woodlands clubs former coach Happy Sichikolo.
It was sweet revenge for City who were beaten 2-1 in the two sides first meeting away in Lilayi this past May.
City replace Luena Buffaloes at the top of the table after the Kaoma sides’ match away to Kalomo Jetters was postponed due to operational reasons by the visitors.
The Woodlands clubs moved up to 33 points from 18 games played while Luena are second on 31 points with a game in hand.

Works and supply minister Gabriel Namulambe has dispelled assertions by Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata that the company contracted to work on the Mumbwa-landless corner road was awarded the contract through corrupt means.
Recently, Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata demanded an urgent review of road contracts, blaming president Rupiah Banda and Nchelenge Member of Parliament Ben Mwila for the failed Mumbwa Landless corner road project.
It is alleged that the project was awarded to Wade Adams, a laboratory testing company belonging to Mr Mwila who is believed to have failed to perform.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Namulambe, who expressed ignorance on the awarding of the contract to Mr. Mwila’s company, says regardless of who is awarded the contract, it should be understood that contracts are awarded to the best evaluated bidder.
Mr. Namulambe says the auditor general is at liberty to audit the whole contract awarding process to ascertain if there were irregularities.
Meanwhile Mr Namulambe who is also MMD chairman for elections says some individuals in the party who have not been adopted have found it hard to accept because they had bribed some people prior to the adoption process.
Mr. Namulambe says what is happening in the party following the adoption process is normal.
He has told Journalists in Lusaka today that unsuccessful candidates will cry out but that the ruling party’s national executive committee will not rescind its decision because it’s final.
Mr. Namulambe wonders how genuine those members of the party rejecting the adopted candidates are noting that genuine party members would not dispute any decision made by the NEC.
And Mr. Namulambe, who is also Mpongwe Member of Parliament says with the 42, 000 voters in his area, he will convincingly retain the seat contrary to media reports that he has been rejected.
POLICE in Lusaka have opened a docket against former President Levy Mwanawasa’s eldest son, Patrick, and Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata’s bodyguard Judge Ngoma for allegedly assaulting a 50-year-old Lusaka resident, Given Mumba, at the Kanyama parliamentary constituency office.
Mr Mumba, who reported the matter at Lusaka Central police station yesterday, said he had gone to Kanyama parliamentary constituency office to see the member of Parliament, Colonel Gerry Chanda, when the two allegedly assaulted him.
This is according to ZNBC TV main evening news monitored in Lusaka yesterday.
Mr Mumba said Patrick and Mr Ngoma allegedly assaulted him when they identified him as an MMD cadre who could not be allowed to see the MP.
He said in the process Patrick picked up an iron bar and hit him on his arm and all over the body.
Mr Mumba said after beating him, Patrick and Mr Ngoma detained him at the constituency office for more than two hours.
According to the medical report dated July 1, 2011, signed by a Mr Julius Zulu of Kamwala Health Centre, Mr Mumba sustained a swollen hand and was experiencing severe back pains because of the assault occasioned on him.
ZNBC TV reported that when contacted for a comment, Patrick rudely refused to comment and immediately cut the line after the author introduced himself and the subject.
Meanwhile, former PF founding member Samson Zulu has said Patrick’s involvement with the PF is clear evidence that he has embraced violence.
Mr Zulu, a victim of the PF violence, said he was not surprised that Patrick is alleged to have assaulted Mr Mumba.
Lusaka Province MMD task force chairperson Chiwele Maimisa said Patrick’s involvement with the PF is a disgrace to the Mwanawasa family.
The United Party for National Development-UPND has said that it will field candidates in all the 150 constituencies and that it is confident that the party will adopt top class candidates.
UPND Spokesman Charles Kakoma said that the party has concluded provincial interviews for people aspiring to stand on the party ticket as parliamentary candidates in this year’s general elections.
Mr Kakoma said that the National Management Committee of the party will soon meet to look at the recommendations for the adoption of candidates for the tripartite elections.
Mr Kakaoma said that the Interviewing Panel has already submitted its recommendations to the highest organ of the party.
He told ZNBC news in an interview that the UPND National Management Committee will then announce the names of the adopted candidates.

Government has dismissed as false, assertions that Patriotic Front-PF Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba funded some road projects in his constituency.
Mr Mwamba popularly known as ‘GBM’ has been challenged to state which roads he has funded.
Works and Supply Minister Gabriel Namulambe says it is wrong for politicians to mislead the public in order to gain cheap political capital out of Government funded road projects.
The Minister was speaking at a media briefing at his office Monday morning.
He said road projects in Kasama and Northern Province in general started way back in 2006, before Mr. Mwamba assumed duties of a parliamentarian.
Mr. Namulambe disclosed that Government has rehabilitated nine point four kilometres of township roads in Kasama, at a cost of over six point three billion Kwacha.
And Mr. Namulambe has disclosed that materials for the construction of the 1.3 Trillion Kwacha Mongu-Kalabo road have arrived in the country.
He says major works on the road will start in the first week of August.
And the Minister says Government is sourcing for funds to reduce the timeframe of works on the Chipata-Mfuwe Road project from four to two years.

Post Newspaper Editor Fred M’membe has lost a bid to cross examine President Rupiah Banda’s Lawyer Christopher Mundia in a matter where Mr M’membe is charged with contempt of court.
This is in the case where Mr M’membe is facing contempt of court charges for defying the court order not to publish libelous articles on President Rupiah Banda during the 2008 presidential by-election.
Lusaka High Court Judge Charles Kajimanga dimissed Mr M’membe’s application on grounds that his lawyers had not made a good case to warrant them an application to cross examine Mr Mundia.
Judge Kajimanga also dismissed the plea by Mr M’membe’s Lawyers to subpoena Mr Mundia as a witness.
The defence has however been granted leave to appeal against the ruling made on Monday.
