Vice President Inonge Wina has called for concerted efforts from both the village headmen and the Chiefs if encroachments in the boundaries of traditional land are to be curtailed.
Mrs Wina said encroachments should be curtailed because settlers need to be given authority by the traditional leadership before they could settle in a chiefdom.
The Vice President said this when she paid a courtesy call on Chief Chipepo of the Lenje people at Kabaka Community School in Kapiri Mposhi district.
And Chief Chipepo who spoke through a representative Benson Chanda, raised some concerns which include a boundary dispute in his area which he said had been going on for a long time.

FILE: Chishimba Kambwili addressing Journalists at his house
Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has asked Lusaka lawyer Lewis Mosho of Messers Lewis Nathan Advocates to stop joking by demanding for a K 5 Million as costs over a single application he made before the High Court.
This was in the matter in which Mr Kambwili and Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament Gary Nkombo wanted to be joined to the impeachment case before the High Court which was dismissed on grounds that the two parliamentarians had not laid sufficient grounds to guarantee the court to join them to the case as joinders .
According to a letter addressed to Mr Kambwili’s lawyers Messers Malambo and Co., Messers PNP, Messers Keith Mweemba and Messers Christopher Mundia Mr Mosho is claiming for a payment of K 5 Million which is to be settled within 48 hours or he will without any further notice institute bankruptcy proceedings against Mr Kambwili and Mr Nkombo upon which through the bankruptcy order their parliamentary seats shall be declared vacant by the Speaker of the National Assembly.
But Mr Kambwili has described Mr Mosho’s demand of that sum as a greatest joke of the year.
“You go to court and make one application to be joinder to the case and it is dismissed, you ask for a K 5 Million, I could have been a lawyer and I think all lawyers could have been flying by now”, Mr Kambwili has said.
“Tell Mosho to behave like a lawyer and not a politician because lawyers are supposed to live above God and have integrity in everything they do but if Mosho wants to come on the political scene he will be bruised because we are ready for him,” He has said.
Mr Kambwili says he is aware that Mr Mosho is a President Edgar Lungu’s sarogate and a friend who does some transactions for the head of state but his time for reckoning will soon come.
On May, 24 this year the Lusaka High Court dismissed an application for a joinder by Mr Kambwili and Mr Nkombo in which the duo wanted to join the proceedings in the impeachment case as interested parties but the court dismissed their application and awarded K 5 Million costs to the petitioners lawyers.
Meanwhile the case in which Kambwili and others are charged with 34 counts of being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime has been adjourned to November 30.
The matter which is in relation to Mwamona Technical Services Limited a company suspected to be owned by Kambwili could not take off because the Magistrate – in – Principal Resident Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile is out of jurisdiction.
The suspect is jointly charged with his son Mwamba and some representatives of Mwamona Technical Services Limited.

World Bank Country Manager Ina Ruthenberg with Finance Minister Magarate Mwanakatwe
Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe has described as successful the 2018 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, which were held in Bali, Indonesia.
In a statement to ZANIS in Lusaka today Mrs. Mwanakatwe said during the Bali Annual Meetings, she led a delegation from Zambia in various meetings, sessions and events of both the International Monetary Fund [IMF] and the World Bank Group (WBG).
She said the successful bilateral meetings with development partners, cordial business meetings and the investor forums which they had in Bali are signals that Zambia’s economic reform policies and programmes are of international market standard and will continue to attract quality stakeholder interest, both locally and in the international community.
Mrs. Mwanakatwe said their views resonate with the thoughts of their development partners that debt vulnerabilities over the last few years pose the risk of reversing the benefits of earlier debt relief initiatives.
She said this is why within the current session of Parliament, she will be presenting specific details on the implementation of austerity measures related to debt.
Mrs. Mwanakatwe said the effort is already being complimented by solid policy frameworks, plans for adequate fiscal and external buffers as stated in the 2019 Budget Address, and sustainable and transparent lending practices as espoused in the Medium Term Debt Strategy.
She pointed out that this year, over US$ 800 million has so far been paid in debt service and that they have also not registered any default.
Mrs. Mwanakatwe stressed that otherwise, the investors in their Eurobonds and other financing facilities would have activated cross-default provisions in accordance with international debt market regulations.
And the Minister said her team took the opportunity of being in Bali to address two business forums separately organized by Standard Chartered Bank and Standard Bank for investors from Asia, Mainland Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Mrs. Mwanakatwe stated that members of her delegation to Bali included her counterpart the Minister of National Development Planning Alexander Chiteme, the Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba, Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet Christopher Mvunga, Bank of Zambia Governor Denny Kalyalya, Ministry of Development Planning Permanent Secretary Chola Chabala, and Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary for Economic Management and Finance – Mukuli Chikuba.
She said they have since requested the WBG and IMF, based on their respective mandates, to help Zambia in further strengthening the fiscal position by improving debt management capacity, increasing domestic resource mobilization and deepening local capital markets.
Mrs. Mwanakatwe said government stands on firm grounds in implementing the Public Financial Management Act through quarterly reports.
She added that they have also embarked on a progress tracking system that will help to strengthen monitoring and demonstrate that tax-payers money is being used prudently.
“ There is need for a clear picture on the size of the Zambian economy due to its changed structure from 2010 to date, therefore, we have set aside funds in the 2019 budget for rebasing the Gross Domestic Product in order to better measure our economy,” she said.
This is according to a statement availed to ZANIS in Lusaka today.

Chishimba KabwiliMr. Kambwili who is also Roan Member of Parliament wants President Lungu and his government to realize that leadership is about uplifting the lives of the people.
In an interview with QTV News Mr. Kambwili says this means that President Lungu needs to make the necessary radical changes as he reflects on the leadership late President Sata exemplified.
Mr. Kambwili has recalled that the late Republican President demonstrated that he was more interested in ensuring that every Zambian can afford three meals a day, than he was interest in enriching himself.
And Mr. Kambwili has justified why he did not attended this year’s memorial for late President Sata that was held in Lusaka.
He says besides having not been formally invited to attend the memorial, he also feared a repeat of the harassment he went through last year when ruling PF cadres became violent.
