Just Slim releases new single titled “Nikukonde”

Paul Banda aka Just Slim has purposefully combined well with Michael Phiri aka Mic this time yet with another hit entitled“Nikukonde” his second official single for 2018.

Nikukonde, which is an immediate follow up to Mi Want Yuh (featuring Cactus Agony). In the song a man is promising a lady with nothing but pure and unequalled love, whilst appealing to the same lady to let go completely of all fake promises she is being tormented with by some fake men!

Just Slim with his collaborations, it appears, has vowed to be an epitome of brilliance and ear-soothing where modern club music genre is concerned, going by his excellent and well polished vocals. Mic showcases his usual guitar virtuosity.

The song not only boasts of sober language usage in its composition but it is also danceable whilst upholding the utmost unparalleled creativity and originality, produced by Eselayem and Mic.

Veteran Sports administrator Simataa Simataa has said that he was a schoolmate of President Edgar Lungu at Mukuba Secondary School in Kitwe and that People like People’s Party President Mike Mulongoti and New Labour Party President Fresher Siwale have no traceable history.

Reacting to assertions made by the duo on Prime TV that President Edgar Lungu is not the person he says he is and that he stole someone’s identity, Mr Simataa said  that he met the president at Mukuba Secondary School in 1974 where the President was his senior and prefect.

“People like Mike are the ones with untraceable background, we don’t know their primary schools, their secondary school, they were not prefects or students at any college say Evelyn Hone or NIPA, they have acquired their degrees online in old age. Mike himself has no traceable history,” Mr Simataa said

The veteran sports administrator further said that the two later met as students at the University of Zambia.

Mr Simataa said: “His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu was a prefect and I mean our prefect at the time, he is a Chimwemwe Product, he was my senior and I want to state here that he was a very well known figure not because he was rich or poor, no, he was well known because he was exceptionally intelligent and among the few students that Mukuba produced that went to Unza with Six points.

“At Unza, he was my senior, he was exceptionally intelligent and brilliant. State Counsel Wynter Kabimba can testify to this,” Mr Simaata said.

Mr Simataa said: “This man is a very humble man and he is like that, he has been like that, he was among the few graduates from Unza who got straight enrolled from Ziale to the Banking World Barclays Bank under the legal department before that the President worked under legal Aid under the supervision of the current chief justice Ireen Mambililima. His history is traceable, we knew his Mother Amai Jere, she was a Marketeer. Those who are peddling lies unfortunately they don’t have any idea about the man. Not all Zambians can be born in UTH.”

But Nyirenda has recalled the Power midfield duo of Kelvin Kapamba Mubanga and Benson Sakala.

Striker’s Ronald Kampamba of Nkana and Zesco’s Under-20 forward Lameck Banda have both received recalls.

Nyirenda has also handed debut call-ups to Kitwe United’s attacking midfielder Emmanuel Chabula and New Monze Swallows forward Peter Nyirenda.

Teachers are not completing school syllabuses, hence the low pass rate – pupil

10

THE recent implementation of the revised national education curriculum by Government, which introduced teaching of local language syllabus from Pre-School to Grade four level in Primary Schools, is progressing well in Choma district, Southern Province. Above, Grade One pupils at Kalundu Ka Maria Primary School were found cheerfully learning how to construct sentences in Citonga in their classroom.

A pupil from Mongu’s Kanyonyo Secondary School appealed to teachers to address the failure of completing some school syllabuses which could be contributing to the low pass rate being recorded by the province. He was speaking at the seventh Provincial SOSTAZ quiz and projects fair competitions held in Limulunga District of Western Province under the theme:”Effective assessment, leaving no one behind.”

The fair brought together seven districts to compete in project presentations and quiz from which 14 participants would be selected to represent the Province at national level at all school levels in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province scheduled between 24th-28th April 2018.

Provincial Senior Education Standard Officer Muyangwa Mukata sounded a call to pupils to take social sciences seriously to address the low pass rate being recorded in various districts.

Speaking when he presented an analysis of results being recorded in social science across the province, Mr Mukata expressed disappointed that even when teachers continue to upgrade their qualifications little is being seen in the upward improvement of the pass rate.

Meanwhile Social Sciences Teachers Association of Zambia (SOSTAZ) Western Province Chairperson Imakando Situmbaeto said effective pupils education assessment will improve learners performance in the province.Mr Situmbaeto urged head teachers to prioritize activities which would enhance pupil’s performance. Mr. Situmbaeto expressed disappointed with the low number of districts represented at the Fair, attributing it to financial constraints.

He appealed to all teachers of Social Sciences at all school levels to attend a Provincial teachers conference to be held in Limulunga District on the 20th and 21st of April.

And officiating at the event, Limulunga District Commissioner Litambo Ndombo challenged education providers and stakeholders to grapple issues which have negatively impacted education standards in the Province. In a speech read on his behalf by Limulunga District Administrative Office Mubiana Ngenda,Mr.Ndombo appealed to stakeholders to bring back the province’s glory of the yesteryears at national level.

He urged the team present to ensure that a quality representation of learners was shortlisted to ensure that Western Province reclaim its first position in education at the national level. The DC implored teachers in the province to uphold inclusive assessment, adding that no one should be left behind in the quest to succeed as a province.
