The result saw Zesco tumble from 1st to 3rd in Group A after making a bright start on June 18 when they beat Al Ahly 3-2 in Ndola.
Wydad took a 1-0 lead into the break when Walid Karti headed in Ismail El Haddad delivery in the box in the 13th minute.
Zesco’s best chance of the match came in the 33rd minute that John Chingandu fluffed his shot on the goalline before Wydad goalkeeper Zouhair Laaroubi collected the ball.
Wydad put the result beyond doubt in the 52nd minute when David Owino scored an own goal after failing to deal with Reda Hajhouj’s shot on the near post.
Zesco pressured but failed to break down an organized Wydad who held on to cement top spot in Group A.

Zambia police Deputy Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has appealed to members of the public to tip off the police with information leading to the arrest of suspected Patriotic Front (PF) cadres who allegedly killed a University of Zambia (UNZA) student opposing the ruling party, reports Pan African Radio Journalist Hermit Hachilonde.
On 24th June, 2016 a United Party for National Development (UPND) supporter Malesu Mukonka was slain by suspected PF cadres for cladding himself with the UPND regalia in Lusaka.
Mukonka a fourth year student was subsequently rushed to Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital where he later died on Monday the 27th June, 2016.
Mr. Hamoonga noted that the Police Service is having challenges investigating the case because the deceased was left unconscious after the attack.
“We appeal to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the culprits” Mr. Hamoonga said
Meanwhile UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has made assertions that President Edgar Lungu has a hand in the deaths of most UPND supporters.
Hichilema has since urged President Lungu to think twice on his uncalled for attitude towards his desire to retain power on 11th August 2016 as Zambians are determined to vote him out.
“Lungu must stop killing citizens because after 11th August, 2016 he will no longer be president of Zambia” he said
Mazabuka Town Clerk Wisdom Bwalya has urged members of the United Party for National Development (UPND) and the Patriotic Front (PF) in the district to learn to co-exist amongst each other.
On Tuesday some UPND and PF members in Mazabuka clashed which resulted in some vehicles that were packed at the Civic centre being damaged and two cadres being hospitalised after they were shot at by some of the cadres who were armed.
Mr Bwalya described Tuesday’s incident as unfortunate and called on political parties to preach peace.
“What happened in Mazabuka was unimaginable and resulted in some cadres breaking vehicles and others being injured,” Mr.Bwalya said.
He said the incident happened after the conclusion of the Conflict management meeting between PF and UPND and to their surprise, there was some violence outside.
Mr Bwalya who is also the District Electoral officer said they would call for another meeting where they would also appeal to the warring parties on the need to conduct peaceful campaigns.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Godwin Phiri confirmed the incident that transpired in Mazabuka.
Mr Phiri said fighting amongst each other was unnecessary and parties should just learn to campaign peacefully than being involved in violent clashes.
He said political party candidates should be in the fore front to preach peace to their cadres which would also deter them from attacking others.
“I think some candidates are not doing enough, this violence is unnecessary and cadres should be refrained from doing this,” he said.
Contention has arisen over the definition of when life begins in the Bill of rights. The second clause of Article number 15 of the Bill of Rights states that a life of a person begins at conception. It also states that a person shall not be deprived of life intentionally, except for a capital offence the sentence of which is death, subject to limitations, defences and extent prescribed.
This presents a dilemma for doctors who are sometimes compelled to take legal abortive actions against a pregnant woman upon seeing that the life of the expectant mother is at stake.
The clause once approved in its current form could mean that many women may die from maternal health complications that could be avoided.
Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) executive member Dr Francis Mupeta stated that in the medical profession life does not always begin at conception because not every zygote develops into a human being.
Dr.Mupeta challenged the journalists to take a leading role in educating the people on the Bill of Rights.
Dr Mupeta who is also president of Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) said during a media training organised by the Zambia Youth Network in Chipata that journalists must take a leading role in sensitising the community on the contents of the Bill of Rights that
Zambians would be voting for in a Referendum which would be held alongside the August 11th general elections.
He said this was because most people rely on the media to get adequate information on various issues.
A 32-YEAR-OLD man has begged the Chawama Local Court to dissolve his two-year old marriage, accusing his wife of being in relationship with a pastor.
This is in a case which Mbozi Mwando sued his wife, Mercy Mwikatazo , 26, of Misis compound for divorce. The couple has been married since 2014 and together they have no child. Bride price was not paid.
Mwando told the court that he has never enjoyed his marriage because sometimes a month elapsed without making love to his wife. The pair had been on separation for five months.
Mwando told the court that on March 11, 2015, he caught his wife having an affair in the pastor’s house whom he described as Pastor Banda.
However, he explained that his wife was also in the habit of washing and cooking for the single pastor.
He said after stopping her from doing house chores for the said pastor, his wife immediately packed her belongings and went to live with her parents.
Mwando claimed that the pastor has again started visiting Mwikatazo at her mother’s place.
“I think my wife, your honour, will never change her behaviour; I am just fade up with her lies because I fear that at some point she may infect me with HIV or STDs. The other major reason why I want to divorce my wife is because she trusts her church pastor more than me her husband.
But in her defense, Mwikatazo said that her husband abandoned her after getting a job at Zambian Breweries.
She explained that Mwando was a suspicious man. “How can you even suspect a man of God ‘monga ba pastor Banda ‘our pastor your honour knows that I am a married woman,” she wondered.
However, Mwikatazo who did not seem to be moved much with her husband plea for divorce, she told the court to go ahead and dissolve marriage.
Passing judgement, Magistrate Gaston Kalala upheld claim for divorce without compensation and that property acquired during the subsistence of the marriage would be shared equally.

The action sequences were smartly done and very entertaining .
CONS
There were some unexplained Plot holes in the movie .
FAVORITE QUOTES
Bob Stone: “You look like a black Will Smith .”
Bob Stone: “I got a plan. Might get us both killed, but if it works it’ll be a totally boss story. Cool?”
CONCLUSION
Having Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Heart in one movie ,you know that you are in for a great time . Central Intelligence is an extremely hilarious action comedy .
The story-line is simple and straight forward , not exactly an original concept, but what brings the movie to life is the two leading men, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Heart.
I have often criticized Kevin Heart for playing the same character in all his movies , but in this one he switched things up a bit . He plays a slightly more serious character as opposed to the usual over the top comedic antics . With that being said , his comedic timing was still on point . Dwayne Johnson also had a tremendous performance as the seemingly unstable/ unpredictable and sometimes sensitive Bob Stone/Robbie Weirdich . His character will keep you guessing his real intentions till the very end , which makes for a super fun movie .
I have spent the last few weeks reflecting on the happenings in our country. We have a situation that require sober minds. A situation that require leadership and level headedness. A situation that require sincerity and honesty. I know that politicians, typical of who they are will continue pretending as if all is well, but as citizens we should begin calling as spade as is and not a big spoon.
I have had to reflect on a number of issues among them the closure of the Post Newspaper and arresting of its editor in chief and the issues surrounding this matter, the continued political violence and intimidations, hate speech by different political players and indeed the media and how there are covering this year’s elections. I have found it very difficult to comprehend why we seem to be so ANGRY with each other. We have become enemies of our own brothers and sisters and this is not going down well for our country. Our government is engaged in an unnecessary squabbles with the diplomats accredited to our country.
[pullquote]I have found it very difficult to comprehend why we seem to be so ANGRY with each other[/pullquote]
This year’s campaigns will most likely go down in history as one of the worst in terms of how the political parties are selling their manifestos. They are spending huge sums of money holding rallies to just talk about their opponents and not how they will improve the lives of our citizens. Sadly our politicians are doing this with a clear conscious when most families can’t afford a decent meal. They know this is not right but they pretend because they know no one will bring up these issues. I can predict that we will have voter apathy if politicians don’t change the way they are handling the campaigns.
We have become a careless society that does not care about the wellbeing of our society. We are not paying enough attention to matters of national importance. Our police has become brutal and at will they use excessive force on defenceless citizens.
Today we have more TV and Radio adverts talking about violence. One would think that as a nation we should have been doing more adverts talking about the importance of the referendum and people’s involvement in the general elections which will be held side by side with the referendum.
Our political leaders have not strongly spoken against violence. From time to time our republican president has called on the police to deal with perpetrators of violence, but until now it looks as though all that is just mere rhetoric from the head of state. Even ‘Christians’ have now started campaigning openly for certain candidates.
The media is not spared. At a critical time such as this we expect the media to be neutral and show independence in the manner they report. This is not the case at the moment as most media houses seem to be politically inclined to one political party or the other. This however, is with the exception of few media houses that are not biased. There is a lot of intimidation happening at the moment and no one from those responsible for these actions seems to care. Lets me mention here also that when we speak the truth we must be ready for victimization because we are dealing with a society that is allergic to the truth. It is in our nature that many times we don’t like to hear the truth and yes what I am saying is true.
Our democracy is at stake and we don’t even show concern as citizens. Those of us who call ourselves ‘activists’ have become even more compromised such that we no longer give proper checks and balances but rather speak for those who give us talk time money. We have forgotten our role in the society and this makes sad reading. I remind us that all we are doing may not really affect our lives so much but our children will be victims of the damage we are so willingly causing to our country. They will grow up in a morally corrupt society.
My call this day goes to the church, the civil society organizations and the citizenry to stop giving a blind eye to the situation our country is faced with
Our leaders are slowly becoming our misleaders, those who support different political parties have continued supporting their leaders even when they do wrong things. They don’t care what we go through and what we feel after all. They are concerned about their own needs and selfish interest. Politicians have made us insult, injure and kill each other for selfish reasons. Every time I listen and read the news I am greeted by hate speech. Now it has even become a risk to openly criticise those holding political offices because we just don’t know what will come next.
Both the ruling party and the opposition are not helping the situation as they are the ones promoting lawlessness. They see it normal to fund violence in defence of attack. Goodness me! we have sunk so low that we can even record children on video insulting citizens and we see nothing wrong with that. What kind of morals are we really giving to these children? How will they respect us when we are doing the exact opposite of what is expected of us? Why have we found the abnormal to become normal? Where is our conscious when all this is happening in a nation that has been known as a mother of democracy in Africa? These are the type of questions that keep on reappearing on my mind.
For far too long we have sat and observed with pretense that all is well when in fact our country is going down. We are scared of being threatened and victimized when we speak out on matters of great importance to our nation.
My call this day goes to the church, the civil society organizations and the citizenry to stop giving a blind eye to the situation our country is faced with. We can’t continued keeping quiet and watch our democracy die without voicing out. It is a risk we have to take if the future generation is to be protected. We can be insulted for doing right but we should always remember that God will give the final judgement.
PF Information Committee Member Sunday Chanda says LAZ President Linda Kasonde should not risk embarrassing LAZ by making statements without facts.
In a statement Mr Chanda said Ms Kasonde’s statement on Tuesday was shallow and devoid of legal grounding.
He urged Ms Kasonde to base her defense of the tax defaulting Post newspaper on facts.
Below is the full statement as issued by Mr Chanda.
LAZ PRESIDENT MS LINDA KASONDE MUST SLOW DOWN ON IGNORANCE SAYS SUNDAY CHANDA
Ms. Linda Kasonde, the new Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) president must slow down and make coherent and intelligent statements based on facts before she runs the risk of embarrassing the reputable LAZ and entire legal fraternity in Zambia.
We say so because her press event was nothing if not shallow and devoid of legal grounding today. She spoke like a pedestrian counsel and not a certified one which is shame.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Ms Kasonde defending the tax defaulting Post newspaper but she must at least do it based on facts. Let there be honour even among thieves.
We would like correct the following misleading statements she uttered in her excited defence of The Post that owes poor Zambian tax payers more than 63 million Kwacha or 6.1 million US dollars:
• Firstly what she refers to as a court order from the so called Tribunal does not exist because the revenue Tribunal was repealed a long time ago, what exists is the Tax Appeals Tribunal
• Secondly there is no ruling that can be made to OVERULE the Supreme Court ruling so we wonder what Ms Kasonde means when she claims a legally binding court order was defied. This is what is called in legal terms, Gods Case.
• Thirdly, Fred M’membe (The Post) whom she is supporting is a tax offender who has taken money out of Zambians, poor Zambians that pay duty when importing cars for re sale, including his own employees. Zambians are the victims, he is an offender.
We can go on to point out more fallacies in Ms Kasonde’s overzealous statement, clearly she is very excited with her newly founded fame she does not want to stop and research before she shoots her mouth, however, we will spare her for the sake of the reputation of LAZ.
As we spare LAZ though, the gross embarrassment for Ms Kasonde’s un-researched excited utterances makes compels to ask, “where was she the day they taught law at law school?”
Conduct basic research Ms Kasonde, understand issues before you issue statements instead of embarrassing LAZ. *Mina amate!* (Swallow saliva).
We remind Zambians that Ms Kasonde is glossing all over real issues regarding how Mr M’membe, became a tax offender who must pay ordinary Zambians what he owes according to the Supreme Court. She is creating her own fictitious narrative due to excitement of her new election at the expense of LAZ reputation.
Also, the order Mr Membe presented to the police yesterday does not have the power to over-rule a Supreme Court order and it comes from a non-existent Tribunal.
We refuse and do not want Ms Kasonde to be mistaken for being ‘Legally Blonde’ so we will end here.
Minister Chikwanda delivering his speech.
Minister of Finance Alexander Chikwanda says the unbanked population has reduced from 62 to 42 percent due to sound policies being pursued by the PF government.
Mr. Chikwanda says the rolling out of banking services to rural areas has helped reduce on the unbanked adult population.

The Minister further called on the people of Mwense to renew the mandate of the Patriotic Front into office in the August 11 general election.

Independent candidate for Lusaka City Council Elias Mpondela has called on residents of Lusaka to vote for someone who will run the city council like a business.
Speaking when he featured on Power FM Wednesday morning Mr Mpondela said councils are like business and that people should vote for someone who has experience in running business so that the city can generate it’s own resources for operations.
He said that he has demonstrated the capacity to deliver saying he has transformed organizations that he has worked for.
“Lusaka city council is a business and it has to be given to one who has walked that path. Some people may be able to talk nicely but I have run very critical institutions which I can proudly say that were able to be transformed under my leadership. I am also able to understand how to run a business,” he said.
Mr Mpondela also said being an independent candidates would make him deliver to the people as he will not have a political party manifesto baggage which will come with those sponsored by parties.
“Zambians understand that it’s better to have an independent mayor that is not encrypted by a political party manifesto because it frees your creativity and makes you much more responsive to the aspirations of the people of the city than that of a political manifesto,” he said.

UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has accused President Edgar Lungu of bad diplomatic etiquettes towards the international community, saying his stance will adversely affect the socio-economic outlook of the country.
Speaking during a media briefing at the party’s national campaign centre yesterday, Mr. Hichilema said President Lungu’s canning of the diplomatic community, for meddling in the affairs of the country by siding with The Post newspaper for evading tax had put the country’s foreign direct investments at risk.
He said as chief diplomat of the country, President Lungu needed to exercise caution in the way he related with the members of the diplomatic community because his strong stance could lead the country into serious consequences.
“Mark my words. It will not be long before the Kwacha start depreciating further because of the way President Lungu is handling the international community and when the Kwacha depreciates, just know that you will have to pay more for the commodities because we are an import-oriented country.
“It was sad that he could call the diplomats to State House and talk to them in the manner he did because that poses a threat to direct foreign investment in the country. He is creating a bad picture of Zambia as well as for local investment,” said Mr. Hichilema.
He maintained that The Post newspaper was being persecuted by Governmnet because it wanted to cripple an independent voice for the opposition political parties so that their campaign messages could not be accessed by the Zambian people.
And some opposition political parties earlier yesterday held a meeting at the Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC) headquarters at which they demanded, among other things, to have The Post editor-in-chief Fred M’membe, his wife Mutinta, and deputy managing editor Joseph Mwenda released from police custody where they were until last evening.
